Lemon pastel
Not crazy about him. Ok blushing but the color isn't doing it at all for me.
You said he's only 200g, right?
-
Looks like a normal pastel

Re: Lemon pastel
How big is he?

Meh. I'm not crazy about it.

Re: Lemon pastel
Wow.
I rate a 5 then. He's below average imo. Especially for just 200g.

Re: Lemon pastel
Yeah..200g at that color, thatd be a no go for me. Unless it was $free.99. We have a 6 year old pastel that looks similar or even better than that.

Re: Lemon pastel
Why does it have to be a lemon pastel?
I also find that pastel to be very poor quality.

Re: Lemon pastel
BC I don't want to muddy my collection by having lemon and normal pastels. I wouldn't fine right selling a pastel as a lemon if I'm not 100% sure he is. Same reason I won't mix butters and lessers.

Re: Lemon pastel
I sincerely believe the names are all a marketing thing. I don't think its a big deal, but that's my opinion.

I would really pass. Like others have said, it isn't about the name, it is about the quality.
My 2012 Female Pastel (500g) and my 2010 Male Super Pastel (1100g) are top quality (in my opinion). Here they are so you can see what I'm trying to explain. People are going to by the better quality animal, not the name.

WOW!!! BEAUTIFUL girl!!!
Yes - If I saw these snakes side by side (this pastel and the one OP posted) for sale, despite the OP's being a lemon pastel, I'd take this one WITHOUT a second thought. Even if she had a higher price tag.

I know if I'm going to buy a pastel or a combo I won't personally care at all what "brand" it is, just that it and it's parents are HOT.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make. Great bloodlines are the most important thing.

Yeah 4/10 tops for me. A pastel should at least have some good yellows at such a small size.

Re: Lemon pastel
1/10 200 grams should not this brown at all

Lemon pastel
IMO, the Lemon line is already pretty muddied up at this point. I remember when I got into BPs, and NERD had Lemon Pastels for sale that were actually nicer than a lot of other Pastels available, and priced accordingly. They were bright yellow, with solid black and not much blushing. Now, though, people have bred everything to everything so the Lemon name doesn't carry much weight anymore.

Re: Lemon pastel
Lemon pastels have strong black and not much blushing, they should be more lemon color than orange and don t brown as much as a normal pastel. this one for me is not execpt if she was shedding at that time but still not a good one .

Congrats! I mean hat snake definitely has better colour than some pastels I've seen.
Def more pics when the babies come out.

Re: Lemon pastel
Nice pastel, looks similar to my Pastel 100% het for Caramel, which added oomph to her yellow, sides yellowed out Nice, her spine browned out, flames enhanced (all @ 700g).... But yours looks like a descent pastel! Wanna see it when its 700g!

I talked to Kevin one time...
and he said his Lemon line of Pastels had dark black, which means very little blushing. The nicer blushing lines are from Graziani. Unless you buy it straight from NERD, I would question the validity of any Pastel that claims it is a Lemon, unless it is neon yellow and dark black. I firmly believe that no "line" other than the Ruppel line is worth a premium. If I was buying Pastels, I would buy based on the look of the adults that produced the one I am looking at or based on the look of the one I am looking at.
I would love to see someone buy a nice CH Pastel and breed it to only light colored normal and after 5 or 6 generations, see what they have.

Congrats on the pips.
Lemons were nicer back in the day, I do agree on that one. Those super pastels are nice as well.

Not If You will buy Directly from NERD...

i have 2 lemon pastel , none directly from Nerd but looking actually very standard Lemon pastel. Saying that, a lot proclaim their pastel blablabla pastel to make extra$ so important to judge on the parents looking and on the baby quality.
