Awesome! Fishing is so fun. I don't have that many pics right now but here is my first salmon I caught last year. Strong buggers! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/11/pase8a7y.jpg
These little dudes are usually more my style

I don't have any from this year yet, but this little guy made me laugh last year:

And yes, that is two different hooks in his mouth, both from one of my fishing poles.

Re: Fishing Pictures Thread
Nice bass you got there. You must be quite the angler, you got em all on a lure! I haven't had a chance yet to fish much this year. I cant catch anything on artificial lures. I gotta use worms. Only one time did I get a lil bass on a fake mini crawfish. Got a pretty good sized bass on a piece of cheese once tho :D

I love to fish, it is almost as big of a hobby for me as the snakes. Great to see others on here!

Re: Fishing Pictures Thread
Great pics and thread. :gj:
Liv- good luck on your trip.
It's really just another sign for me to buy a rod and go down the creek. Haven't caught anything significant in years, even stupid sunnies have eluded me. :lowers head in shame:

The weather hasn't been very good so far this year, but here are a couple of pics from the end of last year. I like to get out fishing in my kayak.

I'll be selling some snakes in the next couple of months to finance a pair of kayaks. I've been yak fishing a couple of times already and love it. I don't want the hassle of a boat and love the portability of yaks.
Any pointers for someone just getting into yaks? We'll (wife and I) will mostly fish small ponds/lakes and slow moving rivers. Usually just fishing for smallmouth/largemouth bass.

I really love it, I like to tell people that it gives the fish a fighting chance of taking me down with them. :D
What I went with was a kayak that was billed as a 'fishing' kayak. It's a little wider and more stable, mine has a concave bottom which also increases stability. It's not as fast as some other kayaks but I've been in some pretty rough water with it and felt pretty safe. One nice thing is the portability. One of my favorite lakes has no boat landing but I can just carry my kayak in and launch from the shore. It's nice when you don't have to compete with dozens of other boats.

Sounds a lot like the yaks we've been looking at. I prefer avoiding the crowds and like to hit the smaller ponds/creeks/rivers, etc...a yak should be just the ticket! :)

I don't really have any pics of the fish I caught this day. Haven't gone lately, but this was from about a year ago.
Here's one with my little man (Ozzy) and my Grandpa. It was kinda tough keeping Ozzy in the boat. He REALLY wanted to go in after the bobbers.
http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...i/IMG_0869.jpg
This is one of the fish I caught.
http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...i/IMG_0882.jpg
Since it was the smallest one I caught that day, he got to eat it. (Don't worry - all of the barbs were cut off the fish so it was safe for him).

I think this thread needs revival, it probably won't work but why not try! I want to see lots of awesome fish!
I have been doing a LOT of surf fishing this summer, but had caught almost nothing for weeks! However, this week has been killer! There has been a run of what I believe to be jacksmelt, and they are drilling my gulp sandworms

Also had a cute little Barred Surfperch the other dayhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/24/ymuzygu8.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/24/ga2udeze.jpg
The thing that I love about fishing in the waves is that there are so many things that you can find that you didn't even know about. This morning, I was doing a steady retrieve, when my line snapped taut. I hauled it in, and there was a baby sturgeon that got snag hooked! It was absolutely incredible!

Thanks for looking!

Sooo awesome. Soon as I start working, I'm getting a fishing license, stat.

Is it legal to kill/clean/eat rays and horseshoe crabs you catch on your line?
Awesome catches, btw. :gj::gj:

No Limits On Skates Or Rays in NY (size or daily possession)
No size limits on Horse Shoe Crabs 5 of them Daily limit...:gj:

Wow! Wonder if CA is the same/similar.

The place I'm stationed out of for work this week has a nice long dock.. I've been pulling in decent sized crappies and bluegills pretty consistently every evening :)

My contribution... my friend came to Florida from COlorado so we took her deep sea fishing off St Augustine.
I caught the first fish!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psf3fd3f83.jpg
I did catch 7-8 more, but none were legal size to keep, although not THIS small. The deckhands said it was the smallest he'd seen caught.
-
Awesome thread but it makes me sad! I can count on one hand how many times I've gone fishing this year :'(
I'd go every day if I could but I don't like to fish alone, especially since I haven't lived in Indy long, it's hard to get people to go with..
I don't have any pics to contribute but hopefully I will soon!
Happy fishing!
