Picture of my first clutch ever
This is my first time breeding ball pythons (or any snake for that matter). I was blessed with 7 eggs which all came out of their shells by yesterday. Here is a picture of the clutch!

Not sure if image will work. Photobucket has made things absolutely horrendous. Anyone can suggest a place to upload photos?

Am I seeing a Pewter Pin, a Pewter, 3 Pins, 1 Cinny, and a normal? Nice odds on that clutch! What was the pairing?

Congrats and I think there are 2 cinny pins in there and only 1 straight pin.

2/3 of those in the back are cinny pins. :gj:

    Nice clutch, nice odds.

Yes, from what I gather from my inexperienced eyes, what I hatched were (from left clockwise):

Normal, pewter, pewter blast, cinna pin, pinstripe, cinna pin, cinnamon.

The father was a pewter and mother a pinstripe.
I had bred the father to two more females (lesser het genetic banded) but they did not have eggs. They locked a few times but after that they refused the male and started fighting. Still don't know why.

By the way, is it "Cinny pin"? I always thought it was "Cinna pin" but I'm probably wrong on that.

I'd double check on the gender of your "females." Could explain the fighting.

    Congrats on the clutch! :)

When I posted about that problem several months ago that was the most usual response. However, they have been sexed again and again thereafter by 4 people total (myself, two friends, and the breeder who sold them to me) and they were still female. Of course it is still possible to mis-sex them but I doubt that is the reason.

By the way, is it possible that it is because the females were big enough but not mature enough? I know snakes are often bred at 2 years, but sometimes they don't "go". Could that be a reason they were refusing the male after a few locks?

Or that they had really small penes and thus everyone thought they were females? We probed both sides by the way just in case they were missing a pene. and they both were "female" on both sides.
