First Clutch: Firefly x Pastel

My first BP clutch ever. I feel like such a newb! haha

No clue what I've got really, any opinions would be helpful. Thanks!

Congrats! It looks like two pastels, two super pastels, and a normal.

Just a guess, but top left Super Pastel and top middle Firefly. The others are easy.

Any pics of the parents?

That fly is fly! Lol! The dad is a stunner. I am gonna say 2 super pastels 2 pastels and a normal.

I see 2 super pastels, 2 pastels, 1 normal.

Top middle is a firefly in my eyes. Really would need a better pic or see them in person.

How old are these hatchlings? Have they shed?

I understood it the same way.
The OP was just showcasing the sire.
And judging on how he looks, it really emphasizes how the offspring aren't fireflies.

2 supers, 2 pastels, 1 normal - and for the purpose of learning here is my thought process:

Dad is pretty banded. All of the babies are banded including the normal. Dad is also not very spotty. Super pastels are usually pretty spotty. I think the banding is what is causing people to think the supers are fireflies. In my opinion they are not. That dad's fire gene wouldn't have left those babies so busy and spotty and with such a symmetrical pattern. He's really funky and the babies would have been funkier if they hit on fire.

That pairing could have produced 5 normals for you. 4/5 morphs with 2 double genes sounds good to me. If you wanted fireflies it's a little disappointing but I would not say skunked.

Also, you just got your first clutch! Did you lose any babies? They could have all died in the egg :oops:

OP: Congrats on the clutch. I also see 2 super pastels, 2 pastels and a normal.

Those are super pastels, pattern isn't right for a firefly imo.

Not bad odds at all, congrats!
