Wow ok. I couldn't hold back any more when he started talking about how fast the earth is moving and then said that it should be very very windy all the time lol. I mean when he said that the water should fall off the earth that was bad enough. But I lost it with the wind.

if you youtube more videos this is what they all say about the gravity and the wind and the water. no of it makes since considering there is more proof of a sphare or global earth then a flat earth but there is a flat earth society.

But if they believe the earth is flat does that mean everyone lives on one side? Or do some of us live on top and bottom an on the sides?

the view is that the earth is disc shaped and the north pole is the center of the earth and the Antartica creates a boarder around the disc. however what I don't understand is the day and night cycle at some point in the day the whole earth would be in night fall and daylight. This is not the case though

I did not watch the video, but when I was in Afghanistan, we were in this village in the middle of the desert and the people there had never seen Americans before, and we were talking to them, and they too still believed the world was flat....

because the sun functions more like a spotlight rather than throwing light out from a sphere.

yea back in the days when I had less of a life than I do now, I used to have fun arguing with these people. http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/

They are interesting theories to read about and I do appreciate the out of the box thinking, but at the end of the day.... yea I'm not seeing it.

There are many many things in this world taken for granted as fact when we just don't really know the answers and are guessing. This, however, is not one of them.

Stephen Hawking would tell this story of an older woman who attended an astrophysics lecture. The professor leading the lecture was explaining how the solar system, galaxy, so on, were constructed and formed. The woman gets up at the end and yells to the professor in front of everybody, "You're wrong! The earth sits on the back of a giant turtle!"
The professor gets a quizzical look on his face as he replies with a question, "well, what does that turtle stand on?"
The woman quickly replies, "Ha, another turtle!"
With the professor still smiling he asks further, "okay, what does THAT turtle stand on?"
In front of the whole audience the woman gruffly replies, "It's turtles ALL the way down!"

needless to say, the academic community as a whole does not prescribe to this view.

I remember the flat earth society.. I discovered their website in high school and my friends and I had lots of laughs over their "theories".
