Body Mods! (Post some pics of yours!)
Hey guys, haven't posted in a while, but I've asked a lot of people this, around town, other forums, etc. What are your thoughts on body mods? This includes facial piercings, silicone inserts, tattoos, etc. I have my septum pierced and if you're not sure what that is, it's the skin between your nostrils! In the next couple of weeks, I'll have my lips pierced with what is known as the "snake bite." I have my left lobe stretched to a 0. I do plan on getting a tattoo, I really want my first tattoo to be an anchor on either one of my feet, this symbolizes that no matter how many times anxiety has tried to take me under, depression has rained on my day, anything trying to bring me down, will not push me to the extent to self harm, etc.

I've had 17 piercings I now have none but scares and holes in my ears that will never close. I also have tattoos on my hands from a life I no longer live I need to spend a couple thousand to get removed before I will be taken serious for the jobs I'm applying for. I have tattoos on both inner for arms that needs to be reworked, a piece on my chest that needs to be redone and have stuff add so its not so streetish looking. Mods are fun but I wish I never did, my life style when I did them I was younger and in trouble non stop and didnt have any plans for my life. Once I figured out my life I now have things to remind me every day how big of a POS I really was. So that's my take on mods.

    8 piercings.

    16g - Double helix
    20g - Second lobes
    4g - first lobes
18g - nostril (I kind of hate this one but I'm too stubborn to take it out. It was a pain to heal.)
    14g - Navel

and a tattoo on my right foot. A japanese kanji that says "Little Sister" and has some meaning behind it.

I plan on getting a double tragus soon, and maybe a conch.

I only have my earlobes 0g right now, and I let my eyebrow close up. I have two tats, and have 3 more planned in the works. Not much compared to you guys. I want to get my tongue pierced, but other than that I feel I have to keep everything kinda "low-key" because Ive had too many jobs that required a "business professional" look and attire.

Three ear piercings (2 lobes, one cartilage) with another 6 planned. Possibly maybe getting a labret or snakebites, but I'm not confident that my lips have the right look to pull it off, so that's on hold. One tattoo with countless others in various stages of planning in my head. I'll post a pic of my tat somewhere once I get it touched up, it needs it something fierce.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/31/ega8e8u2.jpg just tongue and 2g ears. I used to have a cleavage surface bar and nips but they would never heal right. Might get them redone one day. Surface bar barely felt anything but the other two were unspeakably painful.

I got this on my 18th birthday.

    https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...73561980_n.jpg
I got this sometime in 2007. I designed the lettering myself. It says my name but unless you know it most people ask what it says. I flipped the N backwards, curved the E up Curved the top of the A to the left and did away with the -. It was a mix between japanese and old english.

    https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...72079322_n.jpg
I got this in July after me and my girlfriend split up because I was really upset and was going through a lot. I looked up quotes and I came across this: "Si vis pacem, para bellum" which is Latin and translates to "If you wish for peace, prepare for war." It's meaning for me was that I had to go to war with myself to find peace because of the things I was going to. So it's there as a reminder because it was my inspiration during that time.

I also have my nipples pierced, and I'm not going to post the pictures on here because I don't know if I'll get an infraction or not, lol.

    Piercings I currently have:
    tongue
    lip
    industrial
    forward helix

I had 2 dermal piercings in the skin below my collarbone 3 years ago, but they only lasted 6 months before my skin rejected them.

And I also have 4 tattoos.

I really want to get something on the inside of my arm and I've always wanted my eyebrow done, but my "business casual" workplace doesn't really allow for that. Although people always think graphic designers are weird anyway so maybe I should just do it to add to my persona :rolleye2:

Awesome. How do u get multiple tongue piercings done with all the swelling. One at a time or just put a long bar in existing and do new ones?

I don't know about her, but I got my center tongue ring done at 13. When I was 18, I got venoms, so the ring in the middle was completely unaffected. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/01/vu9ugy7a.jpg

Hmm weird. Doesn't swell as bad with venoms I guess. Not that another two weeks of just eating ice and liquids would hurt me. :F

    So far I have...

14ga double labrets (spider bites, basically snake bites on the same side of my mouth)
    18ga nostril
    12ga earlobes
    Tragus
    Cartilage

I used to have a horizontal eyebrow, but a few weeks ago, I got it caught on something and it started rejecting :( I knew when I got it that it was a matter of WHEN it rejected rather then IF it rejected, but I was hoping it lasted a bit longer. I'm going to let it heal and re-establish it at some point, because I ended up really liking it :)

No tattoos yet, but I have several planned out :) I should be getting my first this summer :D

    https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-U...624_164426.jpg
My spider bites and nostril piercing... this is right after I had my eyebrow taken out so I was mourning the loss haha. I'm still not used to it not being there yet :(

    https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...85495206_n.jpg

And my tragus, ignore the swelling, I took this righttt after I got pierced in March :) I had been bracing myself for a lot of 'ouchie', but it ended up being the least painful piercing I've gotten! He was like, 'Okay, needles in, now I'm putting in the jewerly.' and I was like 'That was it? Really?" I've heard tragus can be REALLY painful for how thick the cartilage is- I know my mom's was uncomfortable for her- but IDK D: the spiderbites were way worse on the pain scale.

Was it done with a curved bar or a surface bar?

I believe it was a curved bar, but I'm not a 100% sure, but it wasn't much of a curve if it was. It was honestly fine for months, it was only when I snagged it on something (I have nightmares and I woke up violently and snagged the jewelry on my quilt) that it started rejecting.

Find a piercer that will do it with a surface bar. It's a surface piercing and will heal better with proper jewelry. If you let me know where you are I can make a recommendation on a good piercer. I've been a piercer since 2000 :)

Yup... I knew that going in. I know people who have had theirs for a long time, and honestly, it would have lasted longer if I hadn't snagged it on my blanket- I never had issues before that happened.

They are pretty awesome :) I go to both the ones in Salem and Corvallis (my parents live in Salem, I live in Corvallis), and I've never had a bad experience there with anything. They were where I went for my first 'real' body mod (my nose piercing) and I haven't looked back :D If/when I get my tattoo, they are where I'm going as well.
