    The horror oh the horror!
Call Air Care, get me to the hospital!! I've been tagged!! Krikies,,, he's a naughty little fella!

Several people have told me to expect this and I knew sooner or later I'd do something stupid and today I was bitten by my boa.

The sort of sad or funny part is I'm happy and relieved it happened. The unknown of it all is MUCH worse than the comical, painless bite.
He was eating and almost finished (a clue not to reach in) so I decided to remove the news paper and pat down the substrate because God knows that needs to be done right away LOL!

Here is what I got for my cleanup efforts.

He thought there was more food coming and I don't blame him. He let go right away and sorta gave me that "DUDE,, what's up?" look.

Having been tagged I'm a bit smarter, a lot less worried (until he's big) about the whole non event. The kids laughed I laughed and my wife was not horrified.

This is just before the horrific mauling.

I'm going to treat myself to a cold Memorial Day brew.

Salute to all you Vets and active members of the forces. Have a safe weekend,, and don't put your hands where they don't belong!

Lol nice. If it makes you feel any better my new hog island tagged me the other day. Right on the lip. He was wrapped around my wrist and was inching toward by face. I asked him what he was looking at. Turns out he was looking for a place to bite me to let me know he wasn't into being handled, lol. Mine didn't even break skin as he is a little guy. Cheers to surviving a near death experience ;). He is a pretty boy by the way!

You've got a pretty heavy lineup as is. You will have to report on how your RTB compares to the rest of the snakes you have.

Oh,, and just in case you didn't know,,,, They can bite LOL!!!

The exact same thing happens to me, the little bugger still had the mouse tail hanging out of his mouth and bam! Right on the finger with a full mouth of food! The guy should be lucky that I even feed him lol.

I don't think Gio will mind if I answer that....

He is a pure Colombian BCI. Normal, wild-type color and pattern, locality Barranquilla. The Barranquilla Colombians really show off just how nice a normal BCI can really be and Sniper is a first-rate example!! :gj:

Yes, that is exactly right and my apologies for not checking in.

The Barranquilla boas are said to be what a "natural cross" between the BCI and BCC would look like. The Andes Mountains lower in the northern part of Colombia and it's been said there is an overlap of the 2 species. According to Vincent Russo (boa expert and author) the scale counts and saddle counts differ from most BCIs and BCC's.

I consider my boa a BCI, but more so a locality BCI.

Gus Rentrfro of Rio Bravo Reptiles is responsible for the breeding of my snake.
