Eggs!!
The one day I left for the evening and my ghost laid her eggs. This marks my first clutch ever! Now the fun part... stressing over them day in and day out. She laid exactly 30 days after pre-lay shed but it was 46 days after ovulation. 2 of them are barely stuck to the rest but I was too paranoid to try to gently peel them apart, so I lifted the whole clutch as one.
6 eggs weighing 512g, no slugs, first time mom - 1160g after laying.
Huge thanks to everyone on this site! It pays to do your homework. Instead of panic, I knew exactly what to do.
1. PICS
2. Mom off the eggs, checked for more eggs, washed in lukewarm water with a few drops of dish soap, placed in a fresh tub with none of the eggy furniture
3. Eggs weighed, placed in tub, numbered
4. Off to the incubator
5. Crack a beer
I know you all clicked for this:

While I've got you guys here, please cast a vote!
I have a vacation planned for days 48, 49, 50 (home by 2pm). Move it to days 55, 56, 57? Move it to days 41, 42, 43?
-
Congrats! Your girl looks great.
I'd say move it a week early. Its more common for them to hatch later than the due date than earlier, you'll want to be there when they hatch.

Re: Eggs!!
What incubation temps?
I think you will be fine as is - they won't be hatching on day 50. :)

You're fine with your current plans. It might even help you resist the urge to cut early! Congratulations!

Woohoo! Congrats! I agree you will be fine keeping your plans the same.

Temps are set to 88 but the bottom shelf sits at 86.. so I could 'slow them down' if I wanted to. I think I'll just leave my plans. I read a lot of people cutting around 50 and emerging at 55ish.
Thanks!

Re: Eggs!!
I'd wait till 55 at the minimum to cut at those temps to be honest.
I have a clutch sitting here on day 54 that were done at 88-89f and there are no pippers yet.
-
I have no intention to cut until the first snake pips.
Appreciate all the help over the last year and a half of preparation for this.
-
Congrats!
I would keep your vacation plans as they are. To be honest you could go on vacation any one of those days and they would be fine, although I would not cut them if you aren't going to be around. They will be fine on their own, you really don't need to stress about them getting air or checking on them. Looking at them doesn't help them hatch ;)

Congrats! :D I voted for moving it early, but mostly because I wouldn't even want the CHANCE of them pipping without me being there to watch. Heh. Best of luck no matter what you do!

DAY 54 - I'm glad I didn't move my vacation. The eggs have been severely dimpled for close to 2 weeks now. I am extremely anxious. For all of the crap I give people on egg cutting threads, I understand 100% why people do it now. I'm just praying one of these guys pokes his head out today! I can't even concentrate at work!
If the eggs have all been candled multiple times with veins and are not showing any strange colors or spots, there is nothing to worry about with what I would call 'severe dimpling' is there? I mean, the eggs are sucked in some on the bottom, sides, top, all around. This is normal? SOMEONE TELL ME IT'S NORMAL I'M FREAKIN OUT MAN!
Also, how long after leaving the egg do snakes usually have their first shed? I think people offer food 2 or 3 days after that shed? A week?

1) it's normal :) You'll start to see heads pretty soon!
2) How was the vacation?
3) They usually shed roughly 1 week after they exit the egg

Vacation was great. Hopefully they come soon because the rats are 3 days old and I don't want them to be too big by the time they are ready to eat.
SO EXCITED!

Re: Eggs!!
Congrats! You are fine with your current plans, even if they hatched, which they probably won't it would be fine.

THEY'RE HATCHINNGGGGGGGGG
It took all of my self control not to cut once I hit day 56 and there was nothing. I'm glad I didn't now - it was worth the wait.
For the sake of completion and continuity I am posting here that on day 59 3/6 are pipped naturally and the rest look to be coming soon. You can see the babies as they hatch here at my new thread on this:
http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ch-is-hatching!
Special thanks to all of those who spread knowledge to me over the last few years!

Eggs!!
Excellent, many congrats!
Extra congrats for not cutting. Anyone can breed ball pythons, but not many have the willpower to let them pip on their own!
Heading to look at pics now :)
