Game of Thrones!!!
So this by far has to be my favorite TV series/Book series. I am up to date on the show and currently reading/listening to the first book.
I'm completely captivated.
How about you guys? Love the book? Love the show? Lets talk about it!!! Beware though, myself and others might discuss spoilers!
As season 3 comes to an end, I find myself excited and also a little sad. Excited because the season finales never disappoint, and sad because I will have to wait a year for season 4 :(

I AM IN LOVE WITH THE BOOKS.
I read the middle three in the same 9 days.
Best hospital stay ever. Haha.
I haven't seen all that much of the TV show, but it seems like it's pretty true to the novels. That's all it needs to be, in my opinion.

I have a few episodes waiting for me on my computer, but I'm almost up-to-date. LOVE LOVE LOVE the show, and looking forward to the books!

You should probably work on that! Read the books!
As far as a comparison between the books and the TV series, they are really similar! The book has much more detail obviously, but the show goes chapter by chapter straight from the book.

Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine :D I need to get reading the books. I usually read well before TV/movies come out but I'm slacking on this series.

One of the best shows out right now IMO. I havn't got into the books just yet. Im going to be picking up books 1-4 really soon though.
I am a huge daenerys fan though, dragons ftw!!! They are getting so big at this point.
I'll admit season 3 has been a tad slower than i had hoped, but it has alot of subtle things that made up for my expectations.
I find watching the show with no prior knowledge of whats going to happen leaves alot of suspense and brainstorming. Though I'm sure the books can put you in that realm as well.
Can't wait for sundays Ep.

Game of Thrones!!!
I wanna see it, I havent had time to download them yet tho. I may read the books first see how I do it ha

I love the books, I've read them all except for the newest one 'A Dance with Dragons' . I've never seen the show although I hear it's pretty good. I also have several of the novels as audiobooks which I like since I can listen to them at work.

Game of Thrones!!!
I'm such an ASOIAF geek! I've read all of the books that are out, and I'm loving the show. My boyfriend kept putting the books off, so he'll have to backtrack, but it works out well because I'm really looking forward to see how he reacts to certain events. :D

The show is fantastic and complements the book very nicely!!! They really did pay a lot of attention to detail.
I am also listening to the audio book at work :P

Fun fact-- I named my beardie after a GOT dragon. :3

George R.R. Martin, the author, helps write the script for the show. You can't ask for any better than that.

I am really glad he is involved. If he wasn't.. this show would probably suck :(

They pulled an April Fools joke this year that made me actually cry. They put out a press release that they were recasting a British comedian as Tyrion and getting rid of Peter Dinklage. I was the most upset about a show that I've ever been in my whole life, and I haven't even seen a lot of it.

In love with it. Xfinity had a special during my spring break where I was allowed to watch the first two seasons, even though I wasn't subscribed to HBO. Lets just stay this show made history for me, in the sense that I subscribed to a premium channel for the first time. << And just so I could watch GoT when the season came out, instead of waiting for it to come out on DVD.
I don't know how I lived with out it before.
Concerning the books, I am reading them right now. Ironically a year ago I looked at them at Barns & Noble and saw that there were multi character POV's and decided not to read the series (I am usually not a fan of multi character POV's). But George R.R. Martin did an amazing job with it, andI am really enjoying the books. ^.^

I'm a huge GoT fan! I find this season slow though, in all honesty. I was just anxious for more dragon action this season but there hasn't been much unfortunately. Who else was patiently waiting for last nights episode only to find out there was none!?

I saw several episodes of the show on a "free HBO weekend", but I'm reading the books. I'm currently awaiting book 4.
For the show, there was a lot of gratuitous sex and nudity that didn't particularly add to the storyline. It's not that sex scenes bug me, because well-done ones don't at all. But just going 'Look, lots of sex' and putting scenes in brothels just for the added sex scenes seems childish to me.
For the books... I enjoy them. I do. There's times when I swear the author went "Geez... too many characters, it's getting too hard for everyone to keep it all straight..." and so just killed a bunch off. I will say that these books are NOT so predictable for me. Usually I'm reading a book and easily guessing what will happen, and these, not so much.
The only disappointment so far for me was a spoiler that was kind of my own fault. Since I was half done with book 2 or 3, I went to order the next one and in the description it said right up top "With the death of XXX..." and so spoiled that the character would die soon. But since I didn't know HOW, it wasn't that bad.
I can easily live without the show or books. It's not so important to me that I Must Have the next one(I've been waiting 2 weeks almost for the next book to arrive). I don't have HBO and have no intention to get it anytime soon. If the show comes out on DVD, I may rent or buy it to watch it. The one book that was akin to the free weekend episodes I had seen really was a SLOW time, since I already saw the whole plot on the show.
And yeah, the dragons are the best part. I find myself being annoyed that there's not MORE dragon-parts and less "Oh woe is me, I can't find a man to champion/sleepwith/trust.." routine. I want her to get stronger. She has improved. Just want her more of a strong woman.

My 19 year old son and his girlfriend have been watching GoT and mentioned to me that I might like it. I resisted for over a year then while bored one day decided to watch the first episode, that turned into three episodes that day and 2 episodes pretty much every day until I caught up. I have now watched every episode 3 times! I decided to hold back on reading the books until the show is over. Flipping Awesome show!! :gj:

Re: Game of Thrones!!!
The show is good the books are awesome. martin needs to hurry up and finish the books before he has a heart attack or stroke or both.

GOT is one of my favorites aswell! Next year I will hopefully get a male GHI Mojave and I will name him Drogon. :D

Also, I only got to watch because of the HBO free weekend. I'd love to hear about the kodi thing too.
