I've been looking everywhere for 3 days. I can't even find a trace of it. I had people help me, I looked through every box and every hole and nothing. Can anyone give me some advice? I put a heatpad on the floor with a hide box hoping that it would go there to warm up. I left a small mouse in a box in a dark corner and nothing. I'm beggining to worry. Dave.

POST YER CHEAP HIDES
Check near around and in your furnace, water heater, dryer/dryer vent.

one of my corns got out the other day. I hadnt checked on her for 2 days so Im not sure how long she was out. I found her right away though. She was about three feet away from her enclosure right next to the wall. Keep in mind they dont tend to go far when they escape and they dont like to travel out in the open (check around walls).
Now that being said, if it has been out three days that might be different but search real hard in the same room the enlcosure is in.
good luck!

She is a large ball python, I have a fairly large basement, she was in a room where we kept a lot of junk, I cleaned most of it up but came up empty handed. I looked everywhere in every hole and under everything. I followed all the warm pipes. Because our basement is over 2500 square feet, I think its going to take a lot to find her. The other problem is that we have a drop ceiliing that you can't just open to look into so she might have crawled into there. Im really distraught.

Try baiting a warm hide near a wall with her favorite food, and scattering baby powder or cornstarch on the floor so you can see tracks if she moves around. Good luck finding her!

I've heard of snakes making it up the stairs and into rafters...but my guess is that if she's mature, then she will hopefully be less inclined to climb. Another trick to try is to lay down lots of crumpled newspaper everywhere, especially along the walls...then hang out down there through the night and listen to see if you can hear her rustling paper anywhere. I'm not really sure if that's a practical trick with such a huge basement, though.

Its thursday, I've been up everynight to look for it, and still no snake in sight.

Saved a buck or two
Really sorry about this. I truly hope you find your snake. I cannot imagine how terrified you must be for your BP! Good luck & DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!!

Where you should look depends on how your basement is set up? Is it a finished basment, or one of those basements where you can see all those poles, vents, and rafters everywhere, and there's no carpet?
-
Just when you absolutely lose any and all hope, that is when you'll find her. Happened to me 3 times.

Hey, she might be in the ceiling. My first BP got out, and she was found in the rafters of the basement ceiling (sadly it was winter, and she was found dead.)
If there's any way you can, could you look in the ceiling? Maybe she slid up into a panel.
If your climate is not too cold, though, chances are she's alive and well in some dark crevice of the basement.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my search, it took me a while to to reply, but I found my precious, lol, inside my furnace. She was cold and lethargic. Thank god she was alive, it would have been a close call if I'd find her at a later date. I found her over the weekend, I wasn't going to give up looking through my 2500 square foot basement uless I found her, she was only about 10 feet away from her cage.
She is doing well now, she ate 3 large mice sinse. At first I was worried because she had dirt over her snout and when I tried soaking her to wash it off, she started opening her mouth and showing typical signs of RI. Now that she has eaten, she should be ok. Im now trying to organize my bedroom so that I can put her setup back in to prevent an insident like this again.
Thanks to everyone with all your help and support. Dave.

Oh one more thing, she was found inside my furnace where the fan blows the hot air through the ventilation system. There was no way she could have crawled in there unless she went through the ventilation system. Let just say that she must have had a few busy nights before crawling into the furnace. Im just glad I finally found her.

really glad to hear that you found her! Keep a close on her & make sure she is doing well. Hopefully all is right with her world! you must be SO relieved!!

I am very glad that you found her! And what a place to find her, too. I hope you are able to get her enclosure secured well enough to prevent future escapes. All's well that ends well.

Excellent news! I'm always thrilled to hear of a lost&found pet! If I were you, I would keep her a little warmer and the air a little more humid than usual. Doing so could help curb a threatening RI before you even know she has it.
