recommendations?

Got about a $500.00 budget for the upcoming Baltimore Repticon...wondering what people would recommend?

My aim is 1 male and 1 female....am thinking maybe a Desert male and a mojave female?

Really like Enchis, Clowns and Genetic stripes too....

You could get a nice enchi female for about $500. Clowns and genetic stripes probably not. Mojave female is within your budget, but you'd be hard pressed to find a desert male for the remaining amount.

Meowmeow pretty much summed it up. I'd aim for the mojo first, and then see if there's anything else on that table that you love. The breeder might give you a price break for buying multiple animals, which would help stretch your $500 a little further.

You may be able to pull a Enchi male and a Mojo female if you can get a package deal for the $500.

With that said, if you do not have any girls near breeding that would need the male next season, I would soak all the cash into the nicest female you can get.

Based on the list of males in your signature I'd look for the best quality female Mohave I could find, either with some size or another gene like Pastel if possible.

I would also just use the money to get one or two really nice females. Then when they are a few years old you can buy either a young male or a proven breeder.

It is much easier to find nice males on the market than it is to find nice females. Since it takes so much time to raise the girls, it makes sense to get them early on and wait on the male.

I think you could find some really nice stuff in that price range :)

Im hoping for a pinstripe het albino. Then either a normal het albino or a big sack of small rats. XD

I've got a pinstripe that I was told is het for albino when I got her. The guy didn't have paperwork though. I'd be willing to sell her for $250 if you wanna take that risk. I know normal pinstripes sell for $200 and I've seen the het albino pinstripes sell for $400 and up. So $250 isn't to bad of a deal for a pinstripe possibly het for albino. :)

I don't think I have enough of a collection to risk the loss of time on a possible.

My backup plan, a 100% het from outback was just sold yesterday. :(

If I don't find it, I also have lesser pastel x lesser spider purchasing plans.
(I have $500 for this show and $1000 in savings/early Christmas spending for September with the New York expo)

Plus I kinda want to buy a snake in person for the first time...

We picked up a Juvenile female Pin het. Albino and male Albino for $500 last september at a show in St. Louis.

I'm really excited for my first show. I'm going on my own during the early morning Saturday VIP hour for serious shopping, then hanging out there with friends the rest of the weekend. My one friend into Tarantulas has a sprained ankle but still wants to come.

I already left by 10:15am. Got a 600g female spider het albino, and a 160g male fire. The fire bit me when I first held him, and projected poop across my bedroom when I brought him home. He's an adorable chubby little baby though.
