Anyone See The Xbox One Reveal Yet?
It really it a natural evolution of the console. The biggest thing to me is now the Xbox will serve as a cable box too. So no more swapping inputs to go from Xbox to TV. The only thing I didn't hear was whether or not is supported DVR functions. If it does it will be a real game changer.

And as an aside, they announced a live action Halo TV show to be exclusive to Xbox One. Being done by Spielberg no less. I really enjoyed the Forward Unto Dawn web series so this is gonna be awesome.

And then of course the better gaming hardware and graphics and faster/better reactions to voice commands.

Eh I'll personally wait until they get a loooooot cheaper and have worked out all the bugs before I consider buying one, I don't care how awesome it is how much better gaming hardware and graphics and reactions to voice commands are. It could be capable of making me sandwiches and mojitos while I game, I still wouldn't plunk down $600 for the damn thing lol.

Disappointed, Xbox looks like they are abandoning the hard core gamers, and going for a more gadget oriented system. Also with having to pay a fee to play a used games, they better have some amazing looking exclusives at e3 for me not to go with the ps4.

Word is its a 400 dollar price tag.
And the RROD hasn't been an issue since the first gen 360's.

They left the always-online rumor unanswered.
I wont buy the box if it requires a constant internet connection, just on principal; I should be able to play my system if my internet is down.

They showed cool TV integration features.

They announced 8 GB of RAM, but not the speed. Sony announced DDR5 RAM (expensive). No word from MS suggests DDR3 (slower) RAM.

They answered it later in questioning. The always online feature will not be on the Xbox one.

I won't touch it. I like being able to get used games. In many cases, I've found an older game that didn't get sold in my area that I absolutely wanted or a game that I wasn't able to buy at the time.

Microsoft is becoming try hard. PS4 will knock it out, as always. If it wasn't for halo, the xbox would've died a long time ago.

I buy very few games I just rent em all with gamefly. if you have to pay extra to play a used game that leaves all game renters left out in the dark. if they go through with that there is no way I will buy one. and rob if you think they fixed them and only first gen ones crapped out you must be super lucky with yours. I am on my 4th one and my son is on his third. only one of those was a first gen that I got at launch and to be honest that one lasted the longest.

You can but you have to pay a fee. Meaning you have to dl the disc to your Xbox and if you want to on another console you have to pay a fee. And the whole having to dl every game to the hd is going to mow down that 500g hd fast if your into gaming.

PS3 has started charging a one time online pass fee (more the game companies) to play multilayer content. Which, isn't a bad deal of you picked up like cod crap for 5 bucks and want to play online. What's 5 bucks more?

Lots of fanboys here. I have a 360 because XBL blows everyone elses' online service out of the water. And MS ate more of the hardware money to make it more affordable to gamers.

Someone said XBox was going aware from hardcore gaming? Apparently you didn't see the new COD game they previewed.

And as much as I love my PC for gaming. there hasn't been a decent game since Skyrim. MMO's are really all that keeps PC gaming alive now.

Borderlands 2. Crysis 3. Bioshock Infinite. Far Cry 3. Sleeping Dogs. Max Payne 3. Hit Man 3. Darksiders II.

You can build your own decent gaming computer for under a thousand. If you buy a prebuilt, it'll be roughly 1200. My laptop was bought in 2009, cost roughly $1100, and still plays the new games on high.

I'm sorry, but don't compare COD to anything.
EVERYTHING IN HISTORY IS BETTER THEN COD.

if you're going to compare a game to PC gaming, choose a decent one.

Video game retailer GameStop saw its stock take a mighty tumble after Microsoft's Xbox One was announced earlier this week. Much of the stock's fall can be attributed to what some see as a sea change in the used game market, something that GameStop has dominated for years.

    Ha. Haha.

    Hahaha.

But seriously, Microsoft, be douche bags more and why not do away with new games? No games! No games for anybody!

It'll definitely be expensive, and may support higher than 1080. The only thing that really ever stopped me from getting xbox was the whole pay to play online. They already make a killing off other stuff, why can't online be free?

I custom built my computer, and I can easily walk you through the process. It's not hard, the most annoying for me is always figuring out how to hide the wires, or run them in the cleanest way. If you buy a pre-built you pay for way more then what any computer shop would charge you to assemble it. When I built pc's for people I charge about $75, unless they want to start adding water cooling or stuff of that nature.

I spent about $2500 on my computer, but that's because I bought the GTX Titan, which was $1000, so take that off and it's at $1500, but I'll give you my specs.

Core i7-2700k 3.5 ghz quad core processor(3.9 turbo boost, though I have mine set for 4.2)
    Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Mobo
    16gb(2x 8GB) G-skill ripjaw DDR3 1600/PC3 12800
    256GB OCZ Vertex 4 SSD
1TB Western Digital, or it may be Seagate, no idea.
CM Storm Sniper Case(full size tower, 3x 200mm fans, 4x 120mm fans all together in case)
Corsair H80i(self contained water cooler, with 2x 120mm fans for push/pull combo)
    LG DL DVD-RW
    EVGA GTX Titan Superclocked
    Rosewill Bronze series 1000W Powersupply

Take off the SSD which is about $230, and the vid card which is $1000, and that's roughly 1200ish, but the corsair h80i was about $90, the psu was 150+ I think. Then I over did the ram, and the case was $110 or something like that. You can do an i5 quad core or different i7 quad core and still go under $1000. If anybody has any computer questions ever, feel free to shoot them my way.

    EDIT:
That was also my monitor figured in there. I only got a 24" cause I run three monitors.

No problem, I know how that goes. I thought I was going to have to pay for an electrician because I was having electrical issues in my new home which come to find out my house carries a two year warranty on electrical issues, and the lug coming into the box behind the meter was corroded and loose so it was arching. Glad I didn't have to pay for that as those people aren't cheap.

Just if you ever do build one, or you get somebody else to build one, you buy the parts. What most people don't tell you because they don't want you to know is that when they buy parts for you they tack on cost to each part to make more of a profit, so that $50-75 building fee profit turns into $250+ profit. So always buy your own parts, and when you call and ask the people, tell them you are going to order all the parts. You'll get some that say they won't build a computer unless they purchase the parts because of "quality" or "matching up" when it's total bull.

I have not seen the new Xbox product but I did get a Win8 machine (lappy) earlier this year and right out of the box Win8 is looking for an Xbox to network with. Media Center is gone, which is fine with me I invested in SageTV back in 2005.

That said my now 4 y/o hand built HTPC does anything I throw at it. I'm not a huge game person but I do like some NFS or Burnout series types and this old quad core with 8 gigs of DDR2 1066 plays those just fine. What it does great is record two TV shows at once while streaming a movie to an extender or other PC and playing music on itself and browsing BPnet because each media type gets its own hard drive and I keep it on the 5ghz wireless band.
