I live here in Oklahoma. Doing well so far, ready to hunker down if I need to! I'm just keeping my thoughts on hoping those children are okay!

Looks like it's about to get real down where I'm at, not sure if this cell has a tornado, but I'm gonna stick it out a little longer!

I'm fine. The cell that had the Moore tornado was heading right for my area, but the storm luckily fell apart right before it hit.

I'm clear, and never got touched. It sucks for more. They're calling this 3x greater than our worst tornado and it's decidedly larger than Joplin's tragedy.

They say it was 2 and almost a half miles wide with a mile and a half debris cloud. It's just insane.

No, thats not it. I just inserted a video that starts out with a 2300 year old dilemma that is still relevant, a video done by a guy that has some knowledge in these areas and who can present it properly. Almost all of the video is ironic, but it all has a purpose. I posted it as a response to some references that have been made about the tornados elsewhere. These really rubbed me the wrong way. I know some will understand the video i linked.

You really think it's okay to post that video in a thread about a tragedy where over a hundred people lost their lives including many children? Where is your sense of decency? Where is your compassion? Where is your humanity?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

You're more than welcome to create your own forum and have your own rules. The mod just did what he felt was best for HIS forum. Doesn't really matter what you think. It's their forum, not yours.. You can at least respect that fact, and leave this thread alone.. As suggested, post it in the quarantine forum.. You can discuss it there, not here..

I'm an ass too and could make plenty of jokes in this thread. I have the decency to show some respect for the people who are going through it right now though. You can't blatantly disregard a choice that an admin made lol.

Your blatant disrespect to both a staff member (and co-owner of the site, no less) and to the site have consequences. A gamble that you made and lost.

You aren't the first disgruntled member who chose to thumb their nose at the staff and site to threaten to "be back" by creating a second (and third and fourth and fifth) account, and you won't be the last. Our staff is quite tenacious if you think that you can outwit us.

I suggest that you take time during your temporary vacation from the site and re-evaluate whether you feel you can comply with the site rules as well as decisions made by the staff here when you return.

My prayers and thoughts go out to all those that have suffered because of this tragedy. Many lives were lost and it is very sad. How someone can post that kind of BS on this forum is beyond me. It was very insensitive and rude, not that it really surprises me though. The staff here go out of their way to keep this site family friendly and they had every right to ban the person that posted such rubbish. As a former staff member myself I know that the BS gets very tiring after a while and it can be very stressful. So come on people, give the staff a break, just for once.

The discussion about WBC has been split off and sent to the Quarantine Room:
    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...BC-discussion)

This thread is for prayers, healing thoughts, and compassion for those involved in this tragedy. Hateful discussions about hateful people can be carried on in QT if folks feel so inclined.

If anyone does not have access to the Quarantine Room, and wishes to have it, they need only contact an admin (those of us with red names) via PM and we will open the room for you.

I don't know if anyone else knows this, but if you want to make a quick donation to the red cross to help with the Oklahoma disaster, you can text the word REDCROSS to the number 90999 from your cell phone and it will donate $10.00 to the Red Cross. The donation shows up on your phone bill.

Tornadoes are a fact of life around there. Even still, it's still awful that people lost their lives. Everyone did the best they could, from trying to predict the storm to taking cover. It's the same risk with earthquakes, hurricanes or blizzards. What I hated seeing most was reporters running around, shoving microphones and cameras in peoples' faces while asking them "how does it feel to have lost everything?" and "what is it like knowing you'll never see _____ again?"

Report on the tragedy, by all means. But at least give people some space to grieve and come to terms with their losses. I feel for the people affected by the tornadoes; I can't imagine going through something like this. :(

I have done a fair amount of academic studying on climate change. This wasn't some conspiracy theory nonsense, it was scientific analysis of real data. The cause was not the emphasis, only the effect. People need to throw away what they have come to be told about 'global warming' in the 90s and focus on the changing world we live in.

Unpredictable, volatile weather with a huge increase in frequency over the next 20 years compared to the previous 20 years is one of the main effects we can expect.

Sorry to everyone who experienced damage or losses, even by proxy. There is strong scientific evidence supporting the claim that there are more events like this in our future.
