Morphs/combos that make you go "meh"...

Ok, I am going to say this out loud.

I do not care for the Panda Pied.

Just another double Super (I do not consider Pied recessive) that does nothing for me. Folks go on and on about it, but I am not really a fan.

I feel better now.

Are there any morphs or combos out there that you see and just go, "meh, whatever"?

Almost every champ combo (only okay with enchi champs and mimosas), ultramel combos, snows, and potions don't really do anything for me.

I do like a lot of the 'bee' combos, but some spider combos just do nothing for me... Spinners and stuff with it come to mind. I like Pinstripe and Spider stuff separate from each other better.

-Hypo
-pinstripes
-champs (have only ever seen 1 I'd want)
-super cinnys
-mystics/phantoms (mystic potions are hot though)
-Enchi (not do fond of the base morph but do love it in combos)

Hypo, and pinstripe stuff. Not my cup of tea. With the exception of Enzo. I like him. Maybe its the enchi that makes me like him. Other than that to me, hypos look like they are in shed. And I don't care for the pin pattern. At all.

Everything that has to do with pins that doesnt involve a pastel.

I'm not so hot about yellow belly stuff either, not too into things that looks normalish..

orange dream. the supers are nice, but on its own or in combos: Meh.


and hypo/ghost, i dont know, some look really nice, but for a recessive gene, compared to other recessives, it seems weak to me.

Champagne. . . .boring gene that just washes out color and pattern. And I have no idea why anyone is working with axanthics. It just turns colors grey.

Most lesser stuff. Like lisser bees aren't that interesting to me. I like really clean animals, and those morphs just look really pale..

Lol why are hypos so unpopular? One of my fave genes.

Another thread but in short, "het Pieds" have pretty reliable markers and affect other morphs as if they were actually inc-dom. Also, the Leopard thing just solidifies this as then now you have Leopard as well as the "het Pied" gene in the Pied complex. Therefore, IMO "het Pied" is a somewhat subtle inc-dom gene with the Super being Pied.

I am not the only person with this thought, and I did not originate the idea.

Anything involving semi "normal" patterning and yellow coloration. Not a fan of pastel or any pastel variant. I prefer solid and bold colors or wacky stuff (banana). And in response to OP, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE panda pied ;)

So in essence, a lot like the BEL complex genes or the genes that make the potions? Correct? I can understand that logic. Makes sense.

I'm not a huge fan of the banana/coral glow. It's highlighter yellow and the yellow/purple contrast hurts my eyes looking at it...literally. Then when it gets older, it gets those little black dots that make it look like it's infested with mites. Meh. Just doesn't do it for me.

I find super cinnamons quite boring, as well as most of the really normal looking base morphs (like yellowbelly, phantom and the like).

I love Albinos, but the Albino Spiders just don't too it for me. Too much uniformity in color.

Axanthic.
I have not seen an axanthic or an axanthic combo that I liked. Some look cool as hatchlings, but after their second shed they just look awful to me.

Now to answer your question...

I'm not crazy about spiders or pins. They make some cool combos but aren't my favorites. I still want to add a few of their combos down the road though. I like a few champagne and enchi combos, but not a ton of them. I'd like one hot female example of each morph for breeding purposes. I love cinny stuff but the super cinny doesn't wow me. I think the panda pied is nice though. Albino is another morph that doesn't have many combos i'd want in my collection. I think some of the combos are cool looking, just not something i want in my collection. I'd like a hot spider albino female though, because they're sweet looking.

There are quite a few combos that i can appreciate the beauty of, but just not something id want to add to my collection. Just not my taste. I find it kinda interesting that a lot of the stuff in my collection are morphs that people consider "normal" looking lol. Hypo, fire, yb, cinny; yep my snakes are certainly normal looking lol. I just think the problem is that people haven't seen a good enough example of the morph. ;)

If you think about it in terms of genetics and understanding how genetics work, just about every morph we work with is actually recesive. You have to look at the color/pattern changes just as you would in mice or any other animal/plant.

I dont care for most Champ combos. Some are nice, but I think most of them are just way too borring.

i would have to say that champs, pewters( cinny and blk pastel), and anything with a washed out grainy look to it just do nothing for me. i also don't like spider stuff, not based on looks but the whole wobble thing, good thing my friend got me a bee with very minimal wobble

I think most all of the morphs have their good and bad combo's, but for me pied combo's of any kind are kind of Meh.

I'll take that a step further, all of the so called recessive traits are actually incomplete dominant traits with homozygous supers forms, no different than specters, pastels, mojaves etc. etc. ;)

Awh I LOVE axanthics. Axanthic anything. Eventually I will breed axanthic fireflies and such and enjoy my pretty white and black snakes.

I'm not crazy about albinos at all. I don't like the red eyes.

I am not a fan of Axanthic. I love Ax pins but thats pretty much it. I dont much like Snows either.

Sorry guys, but I'm just not big on lemonblasts. Calicos/sugars and axanthics are two others that I don't go "wow" over.

Pinstripes and their combos. They don't turn my crank. Champs don't either.

I'm surprised on how many people don't like pieds? Well to each their own.

Not a fan of spiders or their combos or pinstripes. Champagnes are hit or miss, depending on the combo or if it's a single gene animal, what they look like. Snows don't interest me at all, even though I like albinos and axanthics both, just not in combination, lol!

I don't like bananas can't stand the peppering into adulthood. Some others I don't like.

I agree with everyone about champagne.. just meh.... don't care about Normal looking subtle combos besides Yellowbelly.. Good Quality YB will stand Out so much that there is quality Snake by its own...

And now i'm Gonna get Crucified for that again... everything Spider... and Everything Albino is just No No for me... same with all Toffi/banana/tofino / candy and all that candy Shop stuff lol

Don't like sugar/calico by itself either.. but some of Combos are nice...

Axanthics. BO-RING. And anything "normalish" looking. Enchi, fires, granite, sable, YB(but I love ivories :D) spotnose, etc. Combos are awesome, but these alone are BO-RING.

Albino doesn't do anything for me. I am not a fan of pinstripe either. I like spiders. (First morph that stuck out for me.) I am not a pied fan either.

Yeah, Albino and Pied are some of my least favorites. There are always exceptions, though :P

Pied, albino, banana, pinstripe, most of the light colored morphs, I prefer the dark stuff.

I'm not a huge fan of high or medium white Pieds. I do like the low white Pieds, though, with all of those funky patterns/colors. The lower the white, the better, IMHO. Also not a big fan of YB by itself (though combos can be crazy cool). I don't care for the hypo/ghost gene, though I have seen some hypo combos that were smoking hot. In truth, though, I'd still be happy to have a breeding pair of each of the aforementioned. :rofl:

i don't like allot of yellow in a snake ( albino is an exception ) but i do love stuff like cinnys and sugers, i love allot of contrast.

I was never a fan of pewters but I have seen some I do like. I guess there isn't much I don't like...

I don't get pied either. It just looks like a defect to me.
