Is this right?
I have 2 ball pythons, just shipped in from VA, 2 female het clowns.
They were thin, but the seller had already told me that.
He is a reputable breeder with about 20 years under his belt. And a great BOI on fauna.
Thats why I trust him, but it doesnt seem right to me.
They look like hatchlings, thats the problem.
Im not sure if they are though so here is some info.
they are at 70 grams, and about 17 inches long.
When they came in, their label read 2 female het clowns, possible spector.
Any advice?
What do you guys think?

The spottier one looks thin, but the other one looks ok. Do you know their hatch dates? Unfortunately, some breeders sparingly feed the babies that they're not holding back. They probably only gave them a rat pink every few weeks and rat pinks are mostly water weight that get excreted. As long as they eat well for you and you are confident in their genetics, then everything should be ok.
-
I also want to add that the "Poss Spector" part sounds weird. If he/she is a reputable breeder, then they will wait until they are absolutely sure whether the hatchling is a Spector or non-Spector before selling them. Spectors are too valuable to sell off as Poss Spectors, unless they know that it's not a Spector, but wanted to add a possible bonus to attract customers.

Re: Is this right?
Hi,
70g would make me say hatchlings - what size/ year were they supposed to be?
-
What's the problem? You listed all the specs of the snakes and such but didn't say why you were asking. Were you told they WEREN'T hatchlings, or is what you got different in person than in the picture?
Just trying to figure out how to better help you.

I'm not certain what the issue is.

They "are" atleast 5 months old. I dont think they are
-
That does sound awfully small for a "5 month old" BP, unless they have feeding issues.
-
because they were supposed to be 2012. btw sorry i wasnt clear on the issue earlier.
They're supposed to be 2012, but they seemed small to me
-
He said they missed a few meals because the guy he bought rats from wouldnt answer him and he later told me he found out the guy was in the hospital so he was just gonna get from someone else. He wanted to get a meal in them before he sent them to me.
-
if they were poor feeders, or he didnt give them much, would that be why they are so small?

if they were poor feeders or if they werent fed well, could that be why they are so small?

Re: Is this right?
Yes that would do it.
They eat now though judging by your picture so unless he told you they were larger or heavier I probably wouldn't be too put out.
Some breeders "maintenance feed" - it's not something I would do but it is fairly common. Or they could have been slow starters in the feeding stakes - I have had some take aaages to start eating regularly.

phew thanks that helps calm down my nerves. Im still going to talk to him, but he was so nice and great service too. Gave me a great deal and called me, emailed me, for any changes and all that. Thank you!
