Leopard geckos are easy too keep. Not much fun to keep, but it'd love a 10g.
-
yeah i thoguht about them, but you cant hold them up for no longer than 5 mintues without them getting stressed out, thats no fun, i would like a very socialable lizard :)......... i could eventualy upgrade in a couple years
-
I say go for a Leo. I love mine they're awesome.
You could also stick a little Viper gecko in it?
-
are they friendly?, what are the specs on gecko's?
i would want soemthin along the lines( temperment wise ) as a bearded dragon, some that is always looking for attention
-
Well geckos arent that than definately.
I dont think any gecko can compare to a Beardie.
I know you looking for something small...but if you want something with personality check out the Sav MOnitors. GOD are they awesome! I have two babies and they are just the cutest and funniest little guys.
But Geckowise for a 10 gallon a Leo is the best choice no doubt.

do you know where i can get a leo gecko?, besides a pet store of coarse

Tons of places.
Drop me a PM I can give you some dealers if you want.

With lizards you're going to find that handling is too stressful. Snakes are the bomb cause they're smooth (freaking claws suck on lizards), and you can hold em all the time.
-
Yeah thats one thing I can agree with..claws do suck LOL
My sav kills my arms!

You could get a Rankins dragon, but it would need a larger cage in a matter of months. They're like little beardies.
-
You could get a house gecko, I hear they are very cool.
Or a day gecko, but I don't know how big the days get, but house geckos are normally (at least I've heard and seen) about 6".
Besides, aren't rankins dragons just like bearded dragons or something?
Actually, aren't they the same thing?
They end up needing custom cages when they are full grown.
A 10 gallon would only work for a bearded dragon for aout 6 months at the most.
Even if it was a hatchling, they grow really fast, my best friend Steven has 1.1.1 beardies.
One of which has coccidia from a previous owner bless it's heart.
Steven is doing his best to get the medicine though.
Actually, he might have gotten the medication today.
Anyway.
African Fat Tail geckos are a whole lot like the leopard geckos, but they areindeed a different species that can be housed comfortably in a 10 gallon it's whole life.
Gargoyle geckos are really cool too, they get 5".
They can be housed in a10 gallon their whole life as well.
Helmeted geckos get about 4" and you could have a pair housed in a 10 gallon if you wanted to.
Viper geckos get 3-5".
And then, there's the smallest gecko I could find.
The desert banded gecko, they get from 2 and 1/2 to 3 and 1/2.
But they are amazingly a lot like Leopard gfeckos, and you said you don't want a leopard gecko.
Indo-Pacific geckos get to 5" though, all the geckos I listed in this post are small enough to comfortably be housed in a 10 gallon tank their whole life.
I would say to get a golden gecko, because theyare the greatest geckos on earth!
But they require at least a 30 gallon tank, though they onlt get 6-8".
Well, good luck.
Bye.

Well, a beardie doesn't need a custom cage when fully grown. A 40-long will suffice, and a 55 would be just fine. And you're right that a Rankins is a beardie, but it is a smaller species of beardie. Still not something you would put in a 10 gal for sure.
