    Record keeping cards
What kind of cards do some of yall use and what kind of info do you record. If any of you can upload a document of what you use that would be great. I want to keep good clean records of the right info. Thanks

These are exactly what I use. I keep them on clipboards, one for each rack. I printed them off somewhere. Oh, you can see the web address on the lower part.

I don't know so much of physical record keeping but I do most of my tracking on iHerp. I think it's a better alternative to printing out tons of sheets of paper.

I usually use an old school pen and paper in a binder. Each snake has it's own tab with a "basic info" page, feeding page, and a shedding and potty page. I made them in Microsoft Word in a table and printed them on card stock to make it more stable.

Recently however I have found it annoying not to be able to have the information at my fingertips when I want it. For example, my notebook is in the reptile room and I am down stairs at the laptop. I've tried different snake keeper apps and I didn't like them for one reason or another. However with some playing around I managed to find "Evernote" and "Dropbox" to do exactly what I want them to do.

First thing that I like is that I can change the information, add information, or delete information from both my iPhone and computer. With Dropbox it's simple. Each snake has it's own folder where I store pictures. Available and organized for whenever I need it. Plus any photos from my iPhone are now accessible from my computer without linking the two.

Evernote I have a "notebook". In there I keep my "mega list" of snakes, my rat/mice orders, rat/mice that are in the freezer, and who is eating what.

Then I have another "notebook" with every snake listed and a feeding/shedding chart. I have a picture and when I am feeding I just enter the information in my phone and it's saved. Plus in the event I want to print a sheet for someone who has purchased a snake I can just hit print from the computer and it all prints out!

These are from my computer view. This is the print preview, if I were to print out the current information this is what would print.

This is again the computer view, but is the "main" screen. As you can see on the left it lists my notebooks and I can select any of the snake's folders.

This is the view from the iPhone. I just select the cell block and enter the new information. I can also have running notes and whatever else. I have three columns for one of my breeding females to note visual locks and ovulation.

Another nice thing about Evernote is you can choose to share the information via Facebook, email, text message, and a few more. It's nice if you need help you can just send someone the full record and they can see the snakes documented activity. Also if you have a breeding loan with someone.

I put mine in a notebook and on every Saturday I transfer all the info to an excel spread sheet. Here are two screen shots of Rose Red's records.

iHerp FTW! I do wish they had a decent android app, though.

Here's a screen shot of mine. I can make you a blank template if you would like. I basically keep the name, picture, day it was hatched, day I purchased it, approximately how old it is, gender, genetics (including hets), and base weight. Then on the actual table I keep the day it was fed, what it was fed, if it ate (yes or no), how much the prey weighed, the snake's weight, when the snake shed, how long the snake is (if I do measurements - I don't do this as frequently), and any other notes (if the animal is in shed, when it pooped, etc.). I also keep everyone on one workbook and the snake's name is a tab. I keep this in excel, a hardcopy in a binder, and I also use iHerp (link is in my signature).

I forgot to add, I also use iHerp, but I don't always want to mess with the computer, I find the paper notes the easiest.

Below is the format I use. I print 2 months per page. Front and back gives me 4 months. One page per snake. I only need a check mark or initial per box. Quick and simple.

I've been keeping an Excel spreadsheet, formatted almost exactly like what BHReptiles has.

The only thing I don't track is poops, though. :rolleye2:

I absolutely love this chart you created. Would it be possible for you to email me a template for it? Or even just one that you have and I can change all the information?

    Thanks

I just keep all records in notebooks. Every snake I own has a picture to identify it. I keep track of sheds, monthly weights, and feedings. I have another notebook that I use to keep all my breeding notes and anything else that is noteworthy.

I use SnakeKeeper app on my iPhone. It was free for one snake but the app does not seem to be on the app store in the US anymore.
