That first shot is a cool angle. Do you ever worry that she'll take off on you up the tree lol?

Nice pics! Am I the only one that is so paranoid that I wont set my animals down outside? Just the thought of picking up mites or a tick panics me. I love seeing them in natural environments but I absolutely will not do it to mine.

Well it's never a bad thing to care about your pets health so I can respect your fear of taking your animals outside. But I feel the chances are quite small that they will pick something up. It may come and bite me in the butt sometime and if it does I will deal with it.

Nope. Your not alone. I'm so paranoid (probably of nothing, really) mine don't touch the ground, or my trees.

Correct me f I am wrong, but I believe snake mites actually need a host to complete their life cycle. They don't just randomly appear like a mosquito...snake mites are passed from snake to snake (hence the need for QT with a new animal brought in from a breeder or store), not snake to ground to tree to snake...

Even with that being said, yeah my kids are as sterile as an operating room. :O but I know a lot of people who do glamor shots in trees, flowers, around wine bottles, and just about anywhere you could imagine...not for me though.

    GREAT pics though...

Eggs can travel around and lie dormant until the right conditions arise. But you are correct that the mites themselves need a host to survive.
