Unless they have photos, pics of them breeding, hatching and is proven, it doesn't exist. Personally I don't think they should name dinks before they're proven out.

I've never heard of it. Is there a superform or something exciting that comes from breeding 2 together?

I have heard of it once, a while back. Some kind of WC someone was trying to prove or claiming they had maybe? Personally, I never knew exactly what it was supposed to be, or what they had bred to try and prove it. If I remember correctly, the consensus was someone sticking a fancy name on a normal and trying to justify charging a ridiculous amount for it, even though it had not been crossed into any morphs nor had a super been made.

I think it was around 3 or 4 years ago that I heard about it briefly, then nothing. Which I had always figured meant it didn't prove out as whoever it was had hoped.

The Voodoo is a melanistic animal that Tim Lane of Ballroom Pythons was working with. You can read more at this link: http://www.ballroompythons.com/ballp...n&Breed=Voodoo. Tim has had to stop working with Ball Pythons due to a medical condition. I am not sure what his final conclusion about the Voodoo gene was.

I don't remember whether Tim came to a conclusion, but this was one wicked snake in person!

Just before Tim got out of Ball Pythons, I was at his place talking with him about various animals in his collection. He did say that the Voodoo project started with 2 really dark males importeed from Africa. He was never able to fully reproduce the extremely dark founding animals, but did notice that anything that the males bred had darker offspring. I think he was still trying to decide if this was a true genetic trait, or more of a line breeding result. I do know that I got a male Sable from him that was produced by a female that was sired by one of the original founding animals and that my Sable is both darker and has a much more pronounced black back than other sables that I've seen. There were 3 male Sables and 1 female Sable in this clutch, all darker and with black backs when compared to a typical Sable.

Here's a picture of Tim's original Voodoo. This is a breathtaking animal in person. My pic on this burlap bag does nothing for her looks in person.

Wow, that is not something I have ever seen before. Those were not the snakes I saw years ago. Those are really cool looking animals. It's a shame he had to stop working with the project.

What is the name of the person selling this "gravid Voodoo"? I know that Tim did sell some babies from the Voodoo pairings thinking that they might be het Voodoos (at the time he was thinking it might be recessive or possibly codominate with the het form being rather subtle and the homozygous form the really dark animal).

It was really hard on Tim to have to exit the hobby. He had some neat projects. I do have a Pastel female that was sired by one of his Voodoos & that Sable who's mother was sired by one of the Voodoos, so I may be able to play around with this project, but I'm not sure what the results will be.

That part of South Carolina is not to far from where Tim lives. Obviously that snake isnt the hypermelanistic version of the Voodoo gene, it could be a het Voodoo. I would certianly ask for more information before buying.
