    Market Research on Rodent Prices
I'm curious what people are actually paying for feeders. Live or frozen, mice or rats.

I'm curious because I have begun to breed a fair number of rodents and would like to know what my fellow breeders are charging. So, if you wouldn't mind letting me know, and a pm is fine too, I'd really appreciate it.

I don't have a price list with me. My guy charges close to Rodent Pro prices. Smaller rats are a little cheaper, larger rats are a little more when compared.

NYC here... I dont Feed F/T so just will give You Image on live....

Big Chains like petco petsmart or petland they charge 5.99-6.99 per small/medium rats and 1.99 for small adult mice...

In my neighborhood Petsmart when they have Accidental breeding they sell pinks too weaned/small (up to 50g) rat for a mice price.

No chain neighborhood store charge me 2$ for any size of mice and 3.99-4.99 for small/medium rats.

When I have time I'm Hitting Store in lower Brooklyn (2 hours there and back in bus and subway) where they have best selection they charge me 1.69 for any size of mice

1.99 for pinky rat 2.99 for pups 3.99 for small 4.99 medium and 6.99 for large and jumbo

    That's NYC market :-/

My price list on rats is
    Pinkies - .60
    Fuzzies - .80
    Pups - 1.00
    Weaned - 1.25
    Small - 1.75
    Medium - 2.00

Asf cost a little more due to the fact they take longer to reach a good size.

I'm in Chicago if anyone needs some rats or asf give me a heads up.

I drive to NERD for frozen or a store down the street which seems to have cleaner frozen stuff.

NERD is charging $2 for a pinky or small or mouse and $2.50 or $3.00 for a small to medium

The place down the street charges me $2.00 for pinks and $2.50 for pups and smalls. I think mediums are 3 or so here as well.

I've noticed both places raise prices in the past 6 months or so. Luckily I breed my own now and not only do I have enough for my own snakes, but I've been building up a fair amount of excess.

I get mines from a local breeder about 40 minutes away and I pay $1 per small/med rat but I have to buy more than 100 at a time and take them live and euthanize them myself:gj: Good enough reason to quit breeding:D

Oh my goodness thankfully I have an AMAZING feeder breeder fairly close to me. I drive an hour and a half one way to pick them up however I pick up a few months at a time. He kills them and freezes them for me. I just drive down, I usually make a day of the time and visit the area. Then pick up the order put them on ice and head home. My standing order is $200+ so I can only imagine how much it would cost with some of the prices listed!!!

    Mice
    Red Hots .25
    Pinkies .25
    Peach fuzzyies .25
    Fuzzies .25
    Hoppers .25
    Weanlings .27
    Adult .30
    Colored mice .37
    Exbreeders .47

    Rats
    Pinkies .50
    Fuzzys .55
    Pups .60
    Weanlings .70
    Small med .95
    Mediums 1.35
    Large 1.50
    Jumbos 2.00
    Ex Breeder Males 2.50

Just paid $80 for 65 small and 5 medium f/t rats from a fellow bp.netter. He's not a professional breeder but he has a nice small operation going.

So thats like $1.15-$1.20-ish per rat.

The local pet store (in CT) charges $4.99 for small live rats and $2.99 for adult mice. And i *think* like $6.99 for medium rats.

    Erm...

Pretty sure if you feed snakes the same size of prey, it'll grow the same whether fed live or f/t.

My local pet store charges 2.99 for a small frozen rat. I live sort of in the middle of nowhere and the next nearest pet store is 45 minutes to an hour away. I've looked at some of the online places an if I get more snakes I might start ordering. Since I only have one right now with the shipping charges it doesn't really pay for me to order online at this point.
