True Ghost pics!
In 2012 I hatched a female Mojave True Ghost and just a few weeks ago I hatched a male True Ghost !!! I am really excited about the future of the True Ghost project.
This project started several years ago by breeding my Yellow Belly 100% Het Richard Fisher Line Butterscotch Hypo male to a VPI Axanthic female...I produced 3 100% Het VPI Axanthic 50% Het Hypo females...I held them all back...
Next I bred a Mojave Ian G./Outback Line Hypo to a VPI Axanthic female...Out of 10 eggs I got 3.6 Mojaves 100% Het True Ghost!!!
Fast forward to 2012...The 1st clutch from male Mojave het TG x female Het Ax poss. Het Hypo produced the Mojo True Ghost!!! I was stoked I proved the poss het girl.
In Jan of 2013 the 2nd clutch hatched...No True Ghost in this one, but I did make a Hypo and an Axanthic proving the 2nd poss het!!!
In March the 3rd clutch hatched and I hit on the male True Ghost proving the 3rd poss het female!!!
I still can't believe all 3 girls proved!!!
Now for the pics...lol!

Re: True Ghost pics!
Really nice. I love the color in the True Ghost

Axs are easily my favorite gene, and you have some fabulous specimens. Not to mention that True Ghost. I am fully jealous.

Re: True Ghost pics!
Is true ghost Orange Ghost? I thought if you said "hypo" it meant orange ghost. never heard of true ghost, but I'm a newb! :P
-
First of all, they are all super awesome! Second, I love the project, very cool!
-
Nice TG is now on my wishlist!

True ghost is a hypo axanthic. Double recessive. I don't really think it matters what line of hypo, or axanthic you use.

No...A True Ghost is a Hypo and Axanthic combo…Orange Ghost is a Line of Hypo…Hypo is short for Hypomelanistic…It sucks Hypos were ever called Ghosts in the first place!

Re: True Ghost pics!
Double recessive jackpot.
It would be great owning those snakes and, must be doubly satisfying producing them.
Congrats on your success.
Did the YB gene pass on with any of the TG's?

True Ghost pics!
Love the TG stuff! Thank you for posting pics. Only helps that you have some mojo mixed in there :D

I wasn't much into hypos until I saw your gallery. I'm really excited to get a snake from you hopefully this summer. Axanthic is by FAR my favorite gene. I can't wait for axanthic fireflies.

Thanks! It was definitely very rewarding to hatch these beauties!
Yes, I did also end up with 2.3 YB 100% Het Ax 50% Het Hypo...I still have 2 females...I am breeding the Mojave 100% Het TG to one now...I may try to prove the other one next year with a visual TG...

Re: True Ghost pics!
Great looking stuff Jon...definitely a cool project. Can't wait till my axanthic poss het hypo gets up in size!
-
VERY cool Jon! Big congrats they look great!!!! :D
-
That is one sweet project, they look GREAT! Way to stay with it, that sure represents lots of resources that could have been dedicated to something else :gj:
Looking forward to seeing TG @ 500 grams :D

They look great. Congratulations.

Those are magnificent snakes!
Tell me, most axanthics brown out so to speak as they mature, do the true ghosts as well?
And secondly, that mojave axanthic is killer! I swore I'd never do a double recessive project until the Lightning Pied came along. Thanks to you, I might just "accidentally" mix axanthic in with a few other things on my way to the Lightning Pied. ;)

Thank You! Gale!
I have never seen a an adult TG...Snake Keeper has one from their line, but I don't recall seeing any pics of it aging...Mine are the first VPI TG I know of...
Thanks Again! I really like the Mojo Axanthic too...It will make some great combos when mixed with other stuff!
Isn't a Pied Mojo mostly white? Not sure the Axanthic would do much with that combo...
