    Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to show off my main goal for next season which is making Axanthics and the most anticipated and favorite morph to date the Lightning pied!! If I get lucky enough and they prove out to be het Ax. This is the project that hooked me onto balls!!

Here is a photo of my (400 gram) 1.0 Pied 66% MJ Axanthic

Thanks guys yeah even if they don't prove out it'll be nice to get some pieds! But crossing fingers for some Axanthics and Axanthic pieds!

I've heard from a couple people he looks leopardish? Don't know to much about the leopard gene myself.

This is going to be one of my future projects! My plan is to get a female pied het vpi axanthic and pair her to my lesser vpi axanthic male. Praying I hit that male axanthic het pied so I can breed them the following season!!

Its years down the line... but one day...

i have a question on producing a lightning pied
ok so i just saw a lightning pied and im stunned. i see there very expensive and wanted to know if i have a male pastel pied are my best chances to producing a lightning pied is by buying a axanthic female? and breeding them? if someone can enlighten me on this i would gladly appreciate it. ive tried doing as much reading as i could and havent found my answers i was hoping someone here could. thanks!

Your pied boy is a stunner and looks certainly looks like a leopard if he isn't one. Right on to the lightning pieds! Those are one of my favorite morphs and on my list to produce...it's years off for me but good luck with your project and hopefully your pair proves out for you!

Basically in your case the easiest way would be to have a visual Axanthic female. All offspring from that pairing would be 100% Double het Pied/Ax. You would then want to holdback 1 or 2 males and hopefully 2,3 or even 4+ females if your lucky enough, raise them up and pair them together and hope for the best.

Double Recessive projects can be a long process but the results are stunning!

Does anyone know yet if the Marcus Jayne Axanthics are compatible with any of the other lines of axanthic? Are there any examples out there that are just axanthic and not pied axanthic?

    Thank you bcballpythons.
Thank you for the response! So is there any chances when I breed my male pastel pied to a axanthic female of a lightning pied coming out? or I would have have to breed the offspring to have any chance? And if so what is the probability?

Zero chance.... Do some more research on how "Recessive" genes work. It seems alot more confusing than it is, trust me

You have to be pretty lucky breeding a pos het axanthic to a pos het axanthic and getting anything axanthic, should get some nice pieds out of there though, I've got my fingers crossed for you. :gj:

I'm hoping I have a couple horse shoes, either way this is my first clutch so as long as everything's healthy I'll be happy...axanthic anything would be awesome just to prove them out though!

Thanks! That would be awesome to at least just see a visual Axanthic in the clutch if not a female pied would make an excellent future addition.
