Morph Recommendations?
Hi there, everybody! This is actually my first post here on BP.net, I just registered hoping to get some extra insight on Ball Pythons. I currently only have 1 bearded dragon, and I'm looking to add an addition to the family. Anyway, I've been doing my research, and in doing so, I've learned how many morphs are out there, and I can't decide what I want! The normal ones are beautiful, but I think I'd like something more unique. My beardie is a normal morph and I regret not getting something more exotic now (even though she's a total sweetheart :)). Anyway, I think I'd like a darker morph, maybe mianly black along with another color - yellow, white, whatever. I'm also looking for a morph that isn't gonna be catastrophic on my wallet. While I realize that this is a decent sized investment, I heard some morphs can run thousands of dollars per snake, and I simply don't have that kind of money to spend.
I realize I'm being extremely broad in these requests, and for that I apologize. But could somebody give me a few morphs that would be pretty easy to find that I could look for that wouldn't run all too much more than a normal BP? Again, I realize I'm being extremely broad, but I appreciate all the help, everybody. :)

Baby males ~$150 (or cheaper), females ~$200+
Other cheaper single gene morphs (baby males will always be cheaper than males with size or females):
Cinnamons are also a darker morph that has lots of nice chocolate tones.
Mojaves are darker IMO and some have high yellows and some have high whites (flames)
Het Red Axanthics are usually darker with a cool look, almost normal-like but at the same time very unique

Re: Morph Recommendations?
Thanks for the replies, everybody! I really like some of the snakes in the pictures, and I'll have to consider how much I want to spend based on whether or not I'll want to breed in the future. I appreciate all the help so far. Just a question - do any morphs actually have different temperament than others? Or is a ball python basically a ball python?

Re: Morph Recommendations?
There are some cool dark stuff the question is what is your budget?
Because not catastrophic on your budget might mean something different for me than it does for you.

Assuming you're not in high school anymore, I'm guessing that you'd be able to afford a much higher budget than I. I work very hard and actually make quite a bit more than the average high school student, but I'd like to avoid spending more than $200 on one snake.

Then in that price range the best dark morph IMO is a Black Pastel, at that price you can pickup a female this season (which you might want to do just in case one day you plan on breeding)

I'd also recommend either a cinnamon or a black pastel female as your first snake. But if you go that route, I'd then recommend a male het red axanthic as your second. The red axanthics are a subtle dark morph that mixes very well in interesting and attractive ways with cinnys or black pastels.

Re: Morph Recommendations?
Id go for what i just picked up...a pewter female for $400. So many possibilities!! And if you decide to pair her up with a pewter male in the future, you can make a super pewter, which is a totally awesome snake!!!

Those cinnamons are pretty cool! Anybody know some sources they can vouch for that I can get a nice one for at a decent price? :)

Well, there's always me and Robin.. ;)
My girl hasn't laid yet though. This week hopefully!
Bradford/Cole has some nice cinnamons. My original line came from them before I bred a gene into them to lighten them.
Robins blackback line is amazingly dark. Striking, with a nice wide BB.
You can find out which reptile expos might be happening near you this summer. Whatever you do, pick something you really really want. Don't settle for the first thing you see.

Of course not! While I'm not going to end up buying a $1,000+ snake, I'm definitely not going to go on the cheap and just get the cheapest one I can find. Where could I find some sort of schedule as to where some expos would be going on? And you said you guys sell cinnamons?
