    Heat pad adhesive recommendation
Anybody got a good recommendation for an adhesive to permanently attach a largeish heat pad to the underside of a glass tank?

Was using Gorilla tape, but that only lasted about a month. I figured that would be a nice non-permanent solution, but at this point IDC if I can move it, just want something that works.

    Thanks!

We use aluminum foil tape. It stays for as long as you want it but is easily removed if you want to move the pad for any reason. Also helps conduct heat.

A single roll has lasted me through about 15 different enclosures and many MANY more heat pad moves than I care to admit. :)

Foil tape is the best choice.

Krazy glue is stronger than foil tape. He said he doesn't care if he can move it or not. :p

It's also flammable so I wouldn't put it on a heat source.

A heat pad cant get hot enough to light it on fire.

I think Krazy glue would be ok, I found these specs on it, I don't see it igniting easily when using a heat pad controlled with a proper thermostat. But if there are options that are not flammable, I would chose those instead, i.e. foil tape.

    Autoignition Temperature: 485 deg C / 905 F
    Flash Point: 83 deg C / 181 F

Foil tape is flammable if you get it hot enough... The thing is, a heat pad can't get hot enough to light the glue or foil tape on fire though.

Despite wanting a permanent adhesive, I would have to recommend instead a `durable`adhesive.
It would royally bite if you had to replace a thermostat probe wedged between heat tape or a UHT that was fixed with crazy glue.
Aluminum tape strikes me as the better choice serving 2 purposes, and still being removable if need arises.

Yeah; I always used the foil tape. Tape it nice and snugly against the tub, and it stays for awhile. :)
