I am SO ready for this to be over.
I am so sick and tired of snow. Here it is almost the middle of April and it's snowed the last two days now. I just really want spring to finally get here.

Less then a week ago I was laying down on a chaise lounge next to a pool in southern Texas getting a nice little sunburn. ::sigh:: I wish I were back there again.

You say that, but while it was 91 degrees here sunday, it snowed yestersday morning. Not alot, but it was cold and windy enough to change your mind.

Yeah, driving home this morning after work was NOT enjoyable. 694 was practically a parking lot; I spent almost the whole drive in 1st and 2nd gear.

That would be one of the reason why I love living in the south ;)

Short, T-shirt, flip flop and iced drinks most of the year works for me :gj:

It was high 80s here yesterday. I couldn't fall asleep around midnight because it was too warm and uncomfortable.

I haven't stopped wearing shorts since last last summer. I'm starting to think we won't get winters at all in the future, which is bad news.

If it makes you feel any better, I live in Oklahoma and it was 80 degrees here on tuesday and then yesterday it was in the 30s. It still has not warmed up. Here's a very funny and accurate picture.

We get everything here in Oklahoma. The best of the South and the North. 110 in the summer, negative 10 in the winter. Haha.

In Oakland it's bright an sunny! :gj: And there's little pale blue halves or robin eggs everywhere.

That sucks man...it means you need to drink some chocolate wine and watch movies.

I don't even know if I'm gonna go. Money is tight right now. If I went, it would just be to see if anyone had dubias. There aren't a lot of quality animals at that show either IMO.

Here in Maryland we skipped Spring altogether. It went from being in the 50's to in the 80's-90's in one week.

If it were to snow here, the entire city would shut down. We get about 1-3 days of snow every 4-5 years. And we go out and play in it while it lasts.

But I am sure we couldn't deal with a bunch of it for a long time.

I just want to point out that while it does rain a lot here Washington is not even in the top 10 for yearly rainfall in the nation. :D

It's not that I really hate snow, it's alway nice to have a white Christmas. It's the white Thanksgivings and the White Easters that I can do without. Like Carlson said, it's been snowing here since November. I'm just tired of it. :(

Went out for dinner just now, and the roads are fine...and probably will be until the snow that has started falling again gums things up overnight. Thankfully, I've got the next several days off from work, and I don't really have any reason why I HAVE to go anywhere during that time, so I guess I may have to take Capray's advice, though I'll probably substitute a good craft beer or two for the wine. That said, the very idea of chocolate wine is somewhat intriguing; while I'm not terribly surprised that it exists, I didn't know about it before now.

well I will point out that I got sun burned the first half of the week while doing lawn maintance for a couple customers, and I think it was just about ok ( in lower Delaware we got to almost 90) I a glad to be home with my wife 4thesnakelady. but man I wish the weather would stay on a even change in temps cause I don't mind the heat or the cold it the sudden changes the humidity ( heat) or the wind (chill) that bothers me the most.

Maybe so but I heard it's number one in being overcast. Isn't that why the sissy Twilight vampires live there? Wouldn't want them to sparkle too much.

Yeah I guess thats why they picked Forks to be their hometown. Its the rainiest town in the state and Kristen Stewart would fit in perfectly with all the depression up there.

Yes, I'm in St. Paul (actually one of the northern suburbs) But I used to live up by Superior when I was in high school. I was watching the news tonight and they were using names like snowmegeddon and snowpocolyps  And to think that the fishing opener is only a few weeks away. :O

Duluth is great in the summer, I used to live up on the hillside and had a job down by the lake. It was interesting getting to work the next morning after a snowfall like this. Just ride the brakes and hope you don't start spinning. :O

Driving to work last night (9:30 PM on the 18th) was pretty bad, but getting home in the morning was no big deal. Kudos to MNDOT for getting the roads cleared pretty well overnight.

Well, we haven't had a bad winter this year. A lot of snow though.

We're used to -40 most winters

We get just as cold, there a weird air current or something. I've seen -40 bunch of times -20s more often tho. I think -40s comes more with windchill being added on too here at least. Been snowboarding in -20s all time gets cold fast with wind chill.
  • 04-20-2013, 04:54 AM
    olstyn
We don't see -40 much here in the Twin Cities, but back when I used to live in the southwestern corner of MN (open, rolling prairie land), we'd see that at least a few times each winter. -20 was pretty commonplace, and the fact that it's mostly wide open space down there means that KILLER wind chill is a regular thing, as are some crazy snow drifts. One winter when I was a teenager, if there hadn't been a railing, you could have walked from the deck on the back of my parents' house (probably 9-10' up from the ground) directly onto a snow drift.

Yeah Duluth gets a few -40s the winters I've been here, I'm from the iron range. For some reason that area is the coldest in the state we'd get way cold all the time. The coldest recorded temp was taken in a town 20 miles from where I grew up. I was alive that day too haha it was stupidly cold.

My son has had two snow days this April and I've had two late calls to work as well as two early releases! We've had two, that is TWO, blizzards in the last week here in Colorado Springs. I'm ready for spring and warmer weather so that I can get my male lemonback already!
