What morphs have grown on you?
After browsing Fauna, Kingsnake, and here multiple times a day I found that some morphs that I wouldn't ever have considered have started to grow on me from seeing nice examples. I don't know if I'll add any of these to my projects in the future but I found I'm starting to like Champagnes, Pewters, and especially Fires more and more (darn those milky Fires and the cool combos they make!).
What are some morphs that you didn't particularly like/didn't want to work with but are starting to grow on you/change your mind on?
Not the right forum but this can include other species you might want to get into too :gj: After seeing Dustin's nice Guyana grow up and having a soft spot for boas in general I'd love to add a motley Colombian, BCC (Suri or Peruvian), and a BCL one day along with a Bredls python. I wouldn't pass down a nice colorful Borneo short tail or an Ivory blood either.....:shh:

Both Calico and Fire I originally did not care for. Totally fallen in love with both of them in the last few months. Really starting to like champagne and combos as well :)
EDIT: Oh, and, it may not be too exciting to some, but I'm really thinking I need to find a kingsnake :)

Super stripes! They look like slugs. But now they appeal to me more.
Also piebalds kinda. Some look like their scales are missing, and some look really nice.
-
The biggest one for me is Spotnose. I am really diggin them lately.
-
i gotta say Pieds, I was never really a fan of them from the start, however the misses, loved them, we got an unrelated pair this year and in person WOW!, they have really grown on me.

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
in the beginning i didnt like albino, i dont know why, maybe because sooooooo many different species have albinos.
but now ive seen so many awesome albino combos, also there is candy and toffee and candino and toffino.
With pied its the opposite, in the beginning i was very interested, but somehow it faded. it would be different if you could somehow add a different layer of color or pattern into the white areas, but there doesnt seem to be a way.

Spotnose. Finding my Twilight female really opened me up to that morph.

What morphs have grown on you?
I didn't like pieds at first. But now they're pretty much almost my favorite morph.

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
a few years ago, I didn't care much for the enchi gene. they make some hot combos
-
Clowns, at the start of this I really didnt dig them much but now they are probably my favorite morph and the combos are ridiculously beautiful.

What morphs have grown on you?
I'm surprised on how many people didn't/don't like pieds. I've always been a fan.
Anyways...back on topic. I always have and always will dislike champs. Morph that has grown on me, or should I say growing, is pinstripes. I don't really like pins or spinners. But the combos I'm really digging lately. I may need to pickup a jigsaw or kingpin in the future.

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
Cinnamon and sugar!
Used to hate cinnamon, then someone *cough Mike cough* showed me hot ones and I've liked em more and more since.
I started out not liking sugar/calico at all, normals with white flecks blah. Then I saw a calider and was blown away and Idk how many combos since have just impressed me more, one of my favorite morphs period.

Mojave. I looked at them when I was shopping for my first ball python (as a pet) and they didn't really impress me. Then I see the examples posted on here sometimes and I'm like :O. I love the reduced banding, the yellows, and the whites in there. Plus blue eyed lacy. Gorgeous.

For me, it was Orange Dreams and Bananas. For some reason I was never drawn to the OD's by themselves ( still not crazy about the base ) but love what they do in combos, especially the supers. With the bananas, I thought they we ok, but not at that price point. At least not for me. But now that they're coming down a bit, and seen what they do in combos, it's on my list to add. Love the Banana clown. :gj:

Great posts everyone!
I never considered Spotnoses when I started in the hobby but after seeing the combos and getting my own perfect little Spot girl I really adore the morph.
ST: Kingsnakes are awesome! Hardy guys, great eaters, and can be cool display guys when they're not burrowed!
The sugars/calicos are working on me too but I don't think I'll jump on that boat but the combos are super nice too!
Same with Bananas: I think they'll forever be out of my price range but they're pretty snakes.
Pieds: Always liked them, it seems they're a "love it or hate it" morph. I hope to get a visual high white female one day but the low whites/mediums are cool too!

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
I know, this is an old dead thread, but I thought it would still be fun.
Calicos never did it for me... until I saw the Albino Calico
As much as I'm gonna be hated for such a classic morph, but Spiders just never did it for me neither... until the first leopard spider and leopard bee I had seen.
And there's a whole bunch more that just don't do it for me, but then when they are mixed with various genes I love it. Thats one of the beauties of the BP genetic world.

The morph I seriously underestimated for the last couple of years was vanillas. I never saw the point of them until I saw a vanilla cream - which is my next project

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
lessers/butters and spiders. Have seen some really awesome examples of these lately and they've really started to grow on me.
-
Albino. I'm not much of an albino fan because of the red eyes and last of contrast. The high contrast ones, especially the cinny Deborah shared from Justin's collection, have me going yeah I'd totally be happy to own that snake.
-
spotnose for me.
I don't care for the super at all, powerballs are blah and they tend to wobble, but the spotnose combo's are really nice imo.

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
Albinos? That's only the greatest morph all time. Lol. IMO of course. Other then my normal I've had for 15+ years, my Albino is what sucked me into this addicting drug aka BP world. But that's what makes us all individual. Albinos have about bottomed out because the mass market believes that all that can be done has been done with them. But I know of several morphs that haven't been touched with the Albino gene that I know would make some stellar combos. I guess that's part of what drew me to Toffinos/Candinos. They can interact with the Albino genes and some of the morphs that didn't work with albinos could make some awe inspiring Toffino/Candino morphs.

Re: What morphs have grown on you?
I'm gonna have to say YB, because when you're a noob BP owner it's hard to tell the difference. Once you are more experienced and can pick out the difference and see what YB does to other genes its amazing.
I just want to throw YB into everything now... I love my ivory girl can't wait to get her up and going this season.

I am working on a WOB first with the albino gene ;)
