What kind of BP.netter are you?

After being a member for quite awhile, there seems to be at least one "category" that most members fall into lol....I'll describe them here, and if theres some I missed, feel free to add on :)

1. "Night Owlers"- those members who are on late at night until the wee hours of the morning scanning through threads that look interesting...these types of members often have insomnia, or work most of the day, and just cant wait to get on the forums when they get home
2. "24/7ers"-these members are on, yep you guessed it...all day, every day. They know EVERYTHING that's going on the 'net....heated discussions, good deals in the sale section, the best posted photos of the day, your daily herp news, etc,. If you wanna be in-the-know, pm these guys :D
3. "Lurkers" - these members may or may not have signed up as early '05, and be quite active, scanning threads all over the forums, but have not made a SINGLE post....ever. Maybe they're scared, idk. There's prob very few of these types.
4. "Business Lurkers" - these are pretty easy to identify.....they have a total of 89 threads posted over the months/years they've joined...80 of which are in the For Sale section, with the other 9 being in the BP pictures section....which are probably animals mentioned in the latter. These members are here for pretty much one thing.
5. "Newbies" - these members go without saying. They have recently joined the forum, and may or may not be new to the world of BPs. Usually ask many questions to feel their way around the BP.net community, and make themselves known, or get information if they are new to BPs
6. "Superhelpers" - these members are on almost as much as the 24/7ers. May or may not be a mod or admin. They are constantly on the prowl to help those in need.....answering as many questions as they can, regardless of the simplicity. Most are VERY knowledgeable about everything BP. You can find them hangin around newbie threads a lot. Often times, they are the only responders to a few OP's questions, without judgement. These helpers are saluted for their kind and informative assistance which time and time again, makes this the BEST BP forum out there.
7. "Weekenders" - members who work weekday jobs, or school, have many school aged children, or who just plain cant get on the forums until Saturday and Sunday. These members often get the BP.net "itches" by Thursday evening. They just cant WAIT until the weekend so they can catch up on all the forum goings on! The forums are usually abuzz on Saturdays and Sundays with the activity of Weekenders and 24/7ers....These particular types of members also usually wish they had more time on the weekdays to go on the 'net.
8. "Bullbaiters" - there's always one or a few of these guys in EVERY group, regardless of size....these types of members are (for the most part) not bad people....they just like to ruffle feathers and stir things up. These members probably visit the Quarantine Room often. They make things interesting.....you can watch a thread go from 30 posts to 130 posts in 2 seconds flat when a Bullbaiter joins that thread.
9. "Informants" - don't know how they do it, but these types seem to know everything. Surely these types must have at least 10 college degrees lol.They probably have a constantly full PM box with tons of questions, ranging from "whats the sex of my BP????" to "How can I fix my incubator!! My BP just laid eggs!!" . Many Superhelpers team up with these types because they are great members to refer to for difficult to answer questions....since Informants seem to give a great and informative answer every time. Again, like Superhelpers, Informants may or may not be mods or admins. These members also seem to help Newbies in distress if no one else is around.



These are all things I made up to be humorous....they are not meant to be offensive to anyone. Id love to hear any additions or categories I may have missed. Id love to know what y'all think too. ;)

Mmmmaaaybe I check the forum when I go to the bathroom during passing period.

24/7er and aspiring Superhelper!

Definitely a newbie. However, instead of posting a bunch of questions, I just lurked for the past 3-4 months before even signing up. :P

24/7er and sometimes a superhelper if I think I have something useful/informative to contribute

I guess I'm a night owler.... and honestly, I've seen plenty of "superhelpers" compromise quality of their information and "help" for quantity of replies. :colbert::colbert:

I'm a combo of lurker and 24/7ner. I'm not always some to get on as I'm busy a lot, but I catch up usually.

Newbie, lurker, 24/7er I think.

I'm new but I don't post much at all and I'm on here for a lot of the day. Spend a lot of time just browsing and learning.

24/7ner all the way :gj:! Lately I've been kinda busy. I won't be able to check the forum in 2 weeks :(... It's gonna be a pain going through all those pages of pictures when I get back, but believe you me, I will do it ;)!!!

I think I cover a lot of the areas depending on what else I have going on.

Honestly I offer less help nowadays simply because it seems we have had an influx of folks who off the wall information or just want to be generally more argumentative, not that I am always 100% right but it becomes a drag to deal with stupid internet arguments.

Most definitely a 24/7er. I wake up make some coffee get on here and check out whats going on. Get off eat some breakfast pop back in periodically throughout the day and will be on quite often into the morning hours. . . . But I am starting a new job soon and will be super busy so thats gonna change. I sure wish I was a superhelper but I am always being super helped.... Someday I will feel comfortable with my knowledge and experience to be more actively superhelping/informant. Alas I feel like there is far more to learn each time I log on!

24/7. I too blame tapatalk, very easy to have it on hand, and peek in frequently. :p. I try to help when I can, but sometimes it gets old answering the same questions over and over. :(

what about my category....the "should be working but is wasting time on the internet guy" ....i play on here at work and occasionally, if there is something i know the answer to or a pic i may want to post, i post.

I'm a 24/7er. I always have at least one thread open in Chrome Mobile. And I scan through the most recent threads whenever the thought strikes me to check in, responding if I think I have useful feedback. Haha. (Even if it's just during a bathroom trip during the night. :P )

Im only on all day on my days off. So i wouldnt say 24/7er. I try and check in a couple times everyday though.

I'm not sure if I'm a "super helper" but i'd like to think i help people a lot. If i can ill try and help, if not then ill at least throw my 2 cents in sometimes.

I'm probably considered a bull baiter too. I have been known to ruffles feathers... :p

24/7er. I don't really post anything helpful, I'm more here for the pictures and social aspect. I always have a bp.net tab open on my browser so that I can refresh the front page every few minutes. :)

You forgot the category for old men sitting on their porches chasing off all the damn kids making all the damn noise and threatening to release the damn hounds. I, er they, also answer an occasional question and occasionally play with trolls.

I'm a member of 24/7 club. I like to sign in, check out what's going on, post a comment or two on the fantastic photos that are posted, and pop in throughout the day to see what's up.

I'm one of those newbies :).
I'll have to comeback and update this thread in year to see where I have graduated to in this community.

I'm a lurker for the most part, I do help out when I can and try to dampen the blows from some of the bullbaiters when I can without being hateful or antagonistic. I guess I would consider myself a "Peace Keeper" :oops:

I suppose I am a 24/7 superhelper. Although right now I've been focusing more on breeding and pictures. I still love helping people though!

I always pictured wilomn as a bear, not a bull. "Poker of bears" seems cooler than "baiter of bulls".

I have no idea honestly...it depends on the day. I would say definitely 24/7er is almost always applicable. Superhelper sometimes, informer sometimes (though that is usually swiftly altered by the actual informers and I limp away learning new things :P) peace keeper sometimes, and let's not forget another category "the joker" or "class clown" there are quite a few of those around too! I dabble there from time to time.

I'll make a new name for my category! Which involves all of the above : "the awesome opossum" yep. That's me :D

I'm a night owl, but because of Tapatalk I'm a 24/7er.

Some might label me a bullbaiter, but I honestly don't do it just to do it. I've also not been to the quarantine room either lol.

These are cute :) I guess that I would be a Gopher. I pop up now and then. I had a substantial cast of BP breeders.. moved.. sold all but one, who died of old age.. Now, I have a blood and a tarantula; lol.

Well, I'd like to think of myself as a helper. I don't think I'm a superhelper though, that's kind of above me still.

I try to be a peacekeeper sometimes, every now and then it even seems to work.

I don't think I'm a bullbaiter, I try not to ruffle any feathers if I can help it.

Mostly I'm on in the afternoon and evening because that is when I'm at home. And yes sometimes I stay up later than I should because of this place, but I don't consider myself a night owl.

Mostly I guess I'm just me. A little of this and a little of that, and mostly nice to have around.

If like to think I'm a helper (maybe not a superhelper) as well but definitely mostly I'm on in the wee hours

Perhaps a modified weekender? I only hop on when I have some spare time, on the weekends or not.

Idk what I'd fall under lol. I used to be a highly active member but once I got involved with metal music I found I have much more in common with people that live the metal lifestyle(that usually go to a lot of concerts like me) compared to other people I've tried to have conversations with that are snake keepers and believe me I've tried. So I visit every now and then to catch up on what's going on with the reptile world and who's still sticking around.

1,3,6, most of the 9's I knew of seem to have retired off into the shadows.
