First Clutch!!!!!!

Woke up this morning to find this:

I uncoiled her, she was very calm the whole time, barely hissed. She still had a couple of eggs left in her so I put her back.

After work, again, she was very calm and let me remove her from the clutch. Total is: 3 eggs, 4 slugs. Not bad for a first time mom. Candled everything and all 3 eggs have nice healthy looking veins, slugs are pure yellow. Two slugs are attached firmly to the eggs, the other two I discarded. The 3 eggs and 2 attached slugs weighed 483 grams.

Mom was about 2500 grams last time I weighed her in Feb, 1960 grams after laying.

Let's all cross our fingers, toes, and anything else we're physically capable of crossing for 3 fireflies :D

Checked them today and a little head was sticking out! Looks like a pastel, (s)he's still resting, not out yet. I put two very, very tiny slits in the other two and it *looks* like they might be fireflies but we'll see when they pip.

Daww, babies! !!

Okay update: Both the eggs now are poking out heads but I can't get pics: every time I look into the door they suck their heads back in and hide, silly baby snakes. They do look like fireflies from the glimpses I get off their heads, but not sure yet. I'm just going to wait them out, they'll come out sometime.

I can't wait for that moment I'm still a long way off though. I've been waiting for my first clutch since the 2nd. I think today might be the day then the long wait begins. Ugggh!

The other is still being a... shy baby snake among other words. He pops his nose out to breathe and hides.

Tell him he has an eviction notice, lol. That's what my doctor told my daughter, when on my due date I had to schedule an induction. I always thought that was funny.

Don't you have like a week or a month once you get the notice, though? What is he's a stickler for his rights and decides to stay in longer lol? Or she, either way.
