reptile basics or animal plastics cb 70 rack

I was just wondering what you think I likere rbi racks but animal plastics are cheaper but is also going to take alot longer to get them

I ordered by RBI cb70 last night around 7 pm est along with some other items and they shipped this morning. I'm not seen 1 bad review or experience with them either. I think when you total up all the related costs and price difference is negligble.

If you are going to need more than 3 slots, I would go with AP.
Larger units = less t-stats

I'm going to need 7 tubs so I would need 3 of the rbi racks with 2empty spots or a AP rack I guess Ap rack would b easier but are they good quality racks ?

I don't have one but that's who I'm going with.
All the research I have done leads me back to AP, racks and cages.

One negative with the larger racks. The longer heat tape can have bigger fluctuation in temps.

Seems like they all have pros and cons.

Both are great. I have an RBI and I love it! With RBI racks, they come with tubs, heat, and free shipping. With AP, you have to pay for shipping and tubs, but the actual rack is a little cheaper. RBI is super fast shipping and AP has an 8-10 week lead time, so if you need one quickly, take that into consideration.

Overall, both are vary nice and it's really up to you which one you get.

I am sure the RB ones are good as well.

Exactly right. I have 2 RBI racks and since they came WITH tubs and shipping, they actaully worked out to be a bit cheaper. Best value for the price. AP racks are good quality, but so are the RBI racks so these were the best value. Plus, a good t-stat will run all three so you still only need 1 t-stat. :gj:

Plus 2 extra spaces isn't that much - you'll fill them in no time, lol....... :P

I just got a RBI rack and a herpstat 2 (well still waiting for the t-stat to arrive). I read through the instructions for hooking up the t-stat but I'm still not 100% sure about placement and such. Could you possible post a pic or 2 and maybe a short description of how you set yours up? Thanks.

I built my own but hear great reviews about RBI and I buy supplies from reptile basics and they have always been very good with prices and customer service. C serpent has good racks also.

I have 4 shelf 32qt and I love it... If You live close to places where Rich deliver to the show You can get even better deal than web page... I just Ordered another 4 shelf 32 qt with belly heat delivered to White Plains and get myself few $$$ discount.

Rich is awesome guy to deal with. Customer service is outstanding. And he made really really good racks.

Besides.. You can Inquiry for 4 shelf cb-70. Rich dont ship them (those require freight) but he is able deliver them to the show.

I ordered my rack from AP, I got the 7 slot enclosed Iris cb70 rack. Yes they have 8 to 10 week waiting period, mine ships out April 5th. I ordered my tubs from reptiletubs.com and my t-stat from Spyderrobotics.com everything else I ordered from RBI. I have been extremely happy with the customer service through AP and RBI, as well as the other companies. From what I have read while doing research for my rack purchase is, I seriously doubt you would go wrong with either company. Also another deciding factor in my choice to go with AP is that they are from Iowa, since I am as well I wanted to support the Iowa reptile market in any way I can. Over all as I stated before I really don't think you could go wrong either way.

I love Animal Plastics but if you are even the least bit impatient then you may want to go with RBI. I made a purchase with AP on January 3rd and am still waiting on that order. I made another purchase in February (7th I think) so that order should be shipped out some time this month but I won't be holding my breath... I am getting sick of seeing these temporary tubs set up everywhere and am slap out of room... At this rate the SD Retic I bought will probably hatch before my new racks get here so I won't even have anywhere for her.

This isn't always the case, I ordered mine on February 8th and its shipping out this Friday. IDK why your first order has taken months. If you talk to Ali at AP she is awesome and always a great help.

I know it isn't always the case. I have 4 racks from them already. It could be the larger order I made or how they are changing their website and adding new products. I was just pointing out that that 8-10 week lead time is just a guess and not a guarantee, so if you are wanting something as soon as possible and aren't prepared to wait months possibly then you may want to consider another manufacturer. Again, that being said, I love AP. Ali is great to work with and all of their products are top notch.
