Hey guys! Just wanted to share some quick cell phone pics of my new snake room! I still need to do some organizing... but its getting there!

Feel free to request some pictures of other animals and I will snap more pics when I get home from work. Hopefully this is enough to tie you guys over ;)

Hmmm...I like how the blurry gene really brings out the color in the fire. ;) Beautiful snakes, and very nice setup!

Mostly empty too! Making room for future babies :) There is a whole hatchling rack not even in this picture. Still not sure if I'll be able to get all the racks on one wall like I want.

I'm going to take a cool panorama when I get home so you can see everything.

Its been a dry winter over here :( all my snakes had bad sheds when we were moving. Its been a battle. The humidifier is keeping the room at 50% now though, so I better be done with bad sheds!!!

I put the water bowls over the hotspot and overflow them just a bit. Works like a charm and is easier than misting once a day. Misting worked just as well, but this is easier. It was a jerry suggestion lol.

How about the second column of your big rack, 2nd snake down. I have no idea what it is, but I'm sure it's awesome.

Anna this is the first time I heard someone mention the blurry gene. I have an adult breeder female that is het for blurry, I got from Tim Lane I'm breeding her to my pastel. She is glowing right now but she looks almost axanthic. I would like to see a blurry morph if you know where I can get a pic.

1.1 pastels, 1.0 lesser, 0.1 het blurry, 0.1 spider, 1.1 norm. 0.1 dinker,

How exactly did you get the fisheye shot? Remote shutter release and duct tape?

It is built into my galaxy nexus camera. I just take about 20 pictures and it pieces them together for me :)

I love her! She is a liesen line black pastel. So, she could possible throw some tricks. She is kinda mean though... maybe just misunderstood ;)

have a question about your rat tub, did you cut on a hole on the mesh up to so you can just reload food thru that hole?

I sure did! When it gets low, just refill it with a big scoop or two. It lasts for about a week.

i was gonna ask about your rat tubs as well. how did you make the feeders? looks like pvc pipe, but how did you get the pip to sit in the screen like that? and what do the bottom of the feeders look like? i think we're gonna start breeding some ratties and i was thinking about setting up some tubs like this until i got a rack built.

My awful step by step.. I forgot to take pictures. The hardware cloth is a pain to work with so I just rushed through it rather than taking pics.

Basically, I cut a square piece of hardware cloth and put it inside a PVC pipe about 7" long. If you pull the hardware cloth tight inside the pipe, you can get it to stare there pretty easily with just tension. I like to put a couple zip ties near the bottom to keep it from falling too low.

The bottom is also a piece of hardware cloth cut to be about the same size as the inside diameter of the pipe. I use all the loose edges to hold it all together. Needle nose pliers are your friend.

Can I ask what kind of adult rack your using?

I mean your adult ball rack. It looks really good!

The big one is a freedom breeder 30 slots 41qts.
