Re: Enchi Appreciation Thread
Wow there's some hot freaking enchis! I want in this thread sooooo bad. No more snakes for a bit though :/ Y'all are testing that resolve pretty darn good though.
Boy, this whole "getting a bunch of addicts together" thing really makes it tough not to feed the snake addiction. Thanks for about destroying my willpower, guys!

I've run out of space :( I'm getting a new rack because I have to move some to larger tubs, but it means one rack goes into storage since I don't have space for three. No more sadly until we move and/or par down the collection a bit.

She means eat nothing but ramen noodles. So you save food monies and can buy anothur snake.
You're interpreting this all wrong. :colbert:

I think the bug eye's (along with the wacky pattern) were a result of a temp spike about halfway through incubation...I never saw any signs of any neurological problems but apparently something was not right...he only made it about a week I believe...I was bummed...big time...
I had one other baby in that same clutch that was deformed and didn't even make it out of the egg...no crazy pattern though...

Lol um yea, duh. I'm saying money isn't the only factor, its money and space. Plus I'm trying to save to move. :( Its hard not buying snakes.

Update on my boys... both out of shed in the last 2 weeks (Enchi Fire yesterday).
I am also in dire need of a 1.0 Enchi Hypo or/and a nice 0.1 Enchi.
1.0 Enchi Fire- 375g
http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...ps62f1c745.jpg
1.0 Enchi Pastel- 345g. Apparently he didn't appreciate being interrupted to amuse this thread. I took pics between strikes at the camera.

Re: Enchi Appreciation Thread
Lets face it: Enchi is the new pastel. Shifts like that sometimes do happen.
One reason for that is that super enchi stuff works so very well, super enchi is just like it should be, enchi on steroids, free of genetic issues. this thread is very nice so far, many awesome stuff, but.... i need more super enchi stuff :)

The Enchi that wouldn't hold still... This is what I got of him tonight, not his best. He was too busy tonight.

Speaking of the new pastel... Here's my pastel enchi boy, Declan. Definitely a beautiful highlighting gene!

Great pics so far everyone, thanks for sharing!
As far as enchi being the new pastel??? No I dont think so, pastels are awesome and they still serve a great purpose, the behavior of the gene however is very predictable and consistent. Not to say that consistent is a bad thing, it can be a very good thing at times. Enchi on the other hand can slightly enhance some morphs while completely bugging out others, definitely one of my favorite morphs to work with. Anyway, keep those pics coming! :gj:

I think we do not see too many Super Enchis here in the states for a couple of reasons:
1. They are held back
2. Most folks are combining their Enchi with something else.
Also, when Supers do come up as available the price tag is too high IMO. A double gene snake that has a low as $600 in ingredients that cannot reproduce itself (therefore only lending one gene to a combo) should not cost north of $2K.
Rarity does play in to it, and we will see the price drop on them as more are available (i.e. the drastic drop in Potion prices).

so many people are working with enchi now, and so many people do enchi + enchi pairings, im sure a lot of super enchis are being produced everywhere. And also many super enchis with other genes added. And these are holdbacks or very expensive and then bred to enchi to make more super enchi and enchi.
they will definitively come down in price, just like once super pastel. 2000 dollars for super enchi and even more for super enchi + another gene, that wont last long.
i wont directly link to the images because i think WOBP doesnt like that, but ill link to some nice super enchi stuff anyway :)

almost all the time the patterns are very reduced and wavy. and i think they are all quite beautiful, there just doesnt seem to be a way to get a busy pattern going under super enchi influence. spinner super enchi and spinner blast super enchi have really obliterated pattern, just a few dark spots. Seems like no matter what you throw at super enchi, the pattern gets reduced and cleaned up or gets wavy.

I'll add mine, Wasabi....This was from January, so he's gotten a bit bigger. I need some new pics...

I'll play - most of these are older pictures.
First - the girl that has been MY personal standard for enchi's. Sadly - she was stolen from the breeder before she was able to be shipped to me. I still mourn the loss of this girl.
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...i/IMG_5248.jpg
She might look familiar:
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...nchi/enchi.jpg
However, she was replaced with this guy- you might recognize him from WOBP - he's a Enchi Pin Bengal Het Pied :
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...8oct10new1.jpg
Who fathered the first Enchi Pin Pied:
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...9-16020948.jpg
And a couple of Enchi Girls:
This is DooLittle's enchi's clutchmate
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...0-14015809.jpg
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...0-14015250.jpg
And another girl
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...0-14015009.jpg
And the two together:

Hoping for enchi pieds, more enchi pin pieds, enchi pin lesser, enchi lesser this year.

She is for sure the nicest enchi we have over here. Mind you those pics were taken on top of a white work table with a p&s. She just glows in person.
