Is this ovulation?
That's looking pretty good.
Is she empty / off feed?

Re: Is this ovulation?
Yes, she stopped eating in late december.

Is this ovulation?
It's my first year breeding too so I'm sure others can chime in.
She looks pretty swollen to me.
Good luck!!

I'm not seeing an ovulation (no tail suck), but she looks like she's building nicely. Keep pairing her. :gj:

I was thinking the same thing as Anna, no tail suck yet but she is building quite nicely so keep pairing her.

There is a good explanation here on tail suck here: http://www.ballpython.ca/gallery/breeding.html
Sure looks like she is going through her ovy now. Congrats

Yep that looks like an ovulation to me. :) I've seen it on my Kay enough to recognize it now. :) Expecting to see it again in a few weeks.....

Re: Is this ovulation?
Thank you all.Hope all turns out well.
I would just want to ask another question:
After ovulation, how long does she take to change behaviour to stay more on the warm side?

Is this ovulation?
Here is a cool chart that help explains everything.
I'm pretty sure it was Dr. Dell that posted this.

I would say no. I've always heard they shouldn't eat while gravid (perhaps an old wives tale?). I doubt she'd accept anyways. Congrats on the ovy!
-
I don't even try to offer food after ovy - she will probably eat after she lay's (around 30 days from POS) :).
Congrats on a first ovy - it's always exciting :D.
-
Definite ovulation even from the first pic. Congrats!

Re: Is this ovulation?
Thats definitely a ovy congrats;and about their behavior. It changes pretty much immediately either as soon as she comes out of ovy ,within hours or the next day she'll be hanging on the warm side.
You really don't need to bother feeding her till after she drops eggs.
Considering half her body is going to be packed with eggs, that leaves very little space to try and digest or pass anything but small urates thru her body.
Just be ready after you get the eggs from her and clean her up, get a meal in front of her.
I've had luck with getting my female to eat within a couple hours after removing her eggs.

Re: Is this ovulation?
congratz, most of my females don't tail suck until they are about to drop. that's when I really notice it. don't feed her, she looks fine. some will offer much smaller meal if she really needed it at this time in her breeding cycle. she doesn't need it. mark her next shed. keep us posted. don

Nice! My fingers are crossed that I end up seeing that as little as another week.
