    Sunset balls!?
I can't wait for these to be more available!!!! 8D These and the Highway balls are both on my "too expensive right now, but WANT" list! I've been eyeballing those dang Sunsets for probably four-five years ever since I first saw a pic of them. Is anyone else impatient to see more of this morph??

I am really excited to see what is going to happen once it's crossed into other morphs...an amazing morph to say the least.

I know, right? I love the faded patterning and the irridesence just looks above what the average ball tends to have. I need to see one in real life someday!

I just talked to Brian at BHB a few days ago about the sunsets. My budget is pretty healthy but they were still way out side of what I'm willing to spend. He is only releasing one visual and either 2 or 4 sets of hets. First clutch is due to hatch in 2 weeks.

how much are they going for! and when do you expect them to drop to affordable prices? (2k and lower) i'm really excited to see what a sunset clown looks like! just imagine all the combos it could make:O

I would say it will take about 8 years for them to drop to 2k .. it is a recessive morph afterall

While 8 years is a long time to wait, I really don't need a new snake more than every 4 years or longer, so this is actually a pretty tolerable wait. :D Honestly, the thing that drives me most crazy about the Sunset is how few pics there are!! I love to drool over other people's fantastic looking beasts ALMOST as much as I like picking out one for myself. And gotta love the recessives for keeping their value strong. I really do hope he starts breeding the heck out of any males soon though, want more pictures!

I don't really want to post #'s dicussed in a private conversation. I'm sure Brian would be more than happy to answer question regarding the sunset via email or phone. I'm guessing that it will a bit longer than 8 years before we see 2K sunsets.

Hello people, I signed up here just so that I could comment on this topic of the lovely Sunset BP. I read here(http://snakebytes.tumblr.com/post/27...esting-journey) that Brian shelled out $70,000 then, believing it was a false positive, let several hets go to pet shops and kept the female het Sunset on the shelf, sitting on the project for 4 years. His popst on Tumblr was in july 2012. Now I know next to nothing about herpetology but if others think that 8 years and over is kind of the norm to prove them out, then to make some kind of money back on this I doubt they will reach 2k for quite sometime..... Sorry, I too would of loved these to be affordable BP as they are absolutely gorgeous.

In the first video where he showed everyone the sunset ball he stated that he had every animal that was produced by the original sunset.

So it takes 8+ years to be reasonable for sunsets but took bananas a year?

It took banana longer than that. Banana is also a codom that produces mostly males. Sunset is a recessive morph which takes much longer to propagate. Plus the sunsets are only really being bred by a small few people right now I believe.

Sunsets look really nice, but we decided to go with Gravels earlier this year. We hope to have baby Highways in the spring and eventually a super Gravel.

Um, bananas have been around for at least 10 years, maybe more.

I asked Brian about the Sunsets last year when they first became big news and I was really considering trying to take a loan out to breed some snakes. He did sell some of the probable hets as normals. They were $25. As far as the current price tag, I'll put it to you this way - snake or a new car, your choice. If I had the money to spend though, based on personal preference, I'd buy one of these over a scaleless for whatever that's worth to you.

I'm with others here, I rate this morph over most others out there. Really want to see a Sunset Pied - I think that would look amazing.

i heared Brian sold the first pair of 100% het sunsets for 50000 dollars last year.

if he sells one visual and 2 or 4 sets of hets this year, prices may be around 30000-40000 for a pair of hets, maybe a bit lower, i dont know the price for a visual.

anyway, the prices are still insane, i would be surprised if they drop below 10000 before 2016.
