New Mojave, maybe something more?
Just got a new Mojave last night, and the pattern seems a little different then my other Mojave. Do most have the stripe down their neck and head?

Re: New Mojave, maybe something more?
Mine have a stripe behind the neck and head too. Nothing really unusual.

I don't know...I mean, I see some of the mojave pattern there with the keyhole/single donut hole patterning...but at the same time, he just doesn't say "Mojave" to me? Maybe it's the coloring or the pic or something...

Yep I agree. The colour is off. But it could just be the lighting in the picture.

I'm not seeing a mojave. Might just be me, but the coloring seems off.

I don't see Mojave in that snake.

New Mojave, maybe something more?
Something less would be my guess. Sorry :(
Need a belly pic to confirm or deny the Mojave genes in this snake.

Lol. I thought so too, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I'm glad you said something.

Looks like a normal to me...the head just doesn't seem dark enough.
-
well the only other option would be phantom .. but the pattern on this one seems too irregular, not to mention the blushing that comes from the sides all the way to the top and across .. phantoms don't have that .. i'm pretty sure this is a mojave, there are many versions of mojave afterall
-
Where did you purchase the snake from? A breeder? I'm with everyone else, my first impression was that is not a mojave. Better pics would help almost has cinny looking alien heads but it does not appear there is any mojo in that snake.
-
I haven't read the thread yet, but I don't think that's a mojave :confusd:
EDIT: appears I'm not the only one to think this.

Re: New Mojave, maybe something more?
Phantom/Mystic may be a possibility. My Mystic male and female both have the Mojave pattern, with much more normal coloring and higher blushings like the picture. But only 1 picture makes it hard to identify for sure. Another possibility is a Mocha. That morph also has the Mojave like pattern but fairly normal colors. I would certainly get in touch with the person who bred it and find out what the pair was that produced this animal and go from there. I would not rule out the chance that this snake is part of the Blue Eye Lucy complex.

Not seeing Mojave :confusd:

It would really help us out if we could see more of a full body shot. My gut reaction is to say normal, but then if I study it carefully, I get bits and pieces of something else. If it is part of the BEL complex, and it's something other than a mojave, I am certainly not the person to identify it.

I'm with you Gale we need more pics, full body pics in better lighting and a belly shot would be helpful. I came back to see if anymore pics had been posted and upon looking again now my reaction was het red axanthic. although most have blackbacks i have seen a few that have not. Def need more pics....and def NOT a mojo.
-
Sorry dude, but that snake looks more like a normal than any morph. It's a nice looker, but need better pics, perhaps in some sunlight to confirm... :/ I'm not a big Mojo fan so I would defer to another who actually has some, but the patterning is pretty distinct!

Here is a picture of my mojave next to my normal. In case anyone wanted to see a comparisonhttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/...ps37365677.jpg
