Got myself my first baby!

Just broke down and got myself my first ball python baby. I'm excited to start with this beautiful little high white Piebald boy, and he's as sweet as can be. I can already see why these guys are so addictive! All of 158 grams and hatched out September 2012.

Beautiful boy, you gonna feed him every 5 days to put some size on him or every 7 days? My spider was born the same month and he is close to 400 grams....maybe more it's been a good 3 weeks since i put him on the scale.

I am going with every 5 days. I definitely wanted to try and avoid feeding too often, due to the risk of him refusing meals, but would like a steady growth rate. Not trying to rush his development or anything, but it seems like a happy medium. 400 grams is quite a difference! I'll be feeding him for the first time in my care later today. :)

Very nice! I tend to prefer medium white pieds, but the pattern yours has is awesome on high-whites. Like "drops of paint" almost. :)

He looks good. I prefer a high to medium white pied, he's perfect.

Yes, his name is based on the anime Soul Eater. :) While the theme for my bp names will not be about the anime, I like the name. He was originally going to be named Spectre, but I saw that there is already a Specter morph, so I changed it. The pieds are my absolute favorite of the extensive list of morphs, so I knew going in that I want to get into producing more pied morphs, I'm already on the lookout for potential project girls.

Such a beautiful snake. I agree though, they are addicting. If ball pythons where an addictive drug your first purchase would be the equivalent of super crack! You got grade "A" your first time and addiction is inevitable!!!! Don't worry though! We'll be your support group so long as you post pics for us to drool over. :)
