Can someone explain "glowing" and when it occurs in the cycle?
I hadn't even known about this concept until today, and was actually going to post something about my female until I got in here and saw people mentioning "glowing." What I was going to say is that my female that I have been pairing off and on for the last month or so has suddenly changed color, in that her normal brown appears a bright golden color in the fluorescent light, and her overall tone is somewhat lighter. Honestly a "glow" is really the best way I can describe it. It's not particularly drastic, but definitely noticeable given that I look at her nearly every day.
Is there a connection here to the "glowing" concept, or has someone experienced this before with a female?

I was also going to ask why she is insisting on being at the cool end of the cage even though she feels cold to the touch. I suppose this explains that as well. Funny I did not notice these things when I bred her last year.
Should I continue to put the male in there intermittently even though they've had 2 very good locks or is she indicating that she's fertilized?

That's pretty much what I have experienced, although I notice my girls starting to glow way before their pre-ov shed. It's subtle, but if you pay attention you can see it. The glow is very noticeable right before they ovulate-in my experience, then after the pre-lay shed it starts to fade.
Here is a snake that I bought as a male in October, really dark and pretty. Found out it's a female because of glowing/ovulation

Here "he" is in November. I had not realized he was a she yet, but you can see the color lightened up a bit, especially on the head and neck.

And today, due to lay in 1-2 weeks notice the glow has really faded.

Here are some pictures of some girls several months before they ovulated, you can see the glow in their neck and head. You have to really know what they look like before they glow to notice it early on. All of these girls laid for me 4-6 months after these pictures.

This girls glow is always very subtle, but you can still see the little hint of a glow behind her head and on her neck

Edit: Forgot I had a couple more!
Pastel female, usually doesn't have a bright yellow neck/head

Here is the subtle girl this year, I have high hopes for her laying again this year

Can someone explain "glowing" and when it occurs in the cycle?
I just took this pic on the left of my girl Audrey, who has just started glowing after her last shed a few days ago... but you can see the difference in how her head and neck look compared to the pic on the right that was taken about a week and a half ago. :)

Even human females "glow" lol, probably for the same reason
You wouldn't call this glowing before pre-ov shed? I'm not arguing with you, snakes never go by the book, but in my experience I've noticed them glowing for several months.
(I keep a blog of sorts on my site so I can keep track of dates)
February, I have pictures of her head looking like this in January too

Another year with the girl above, I call the neck glow the beginning of glowing, so far I've had 100% accuracy on whether or not they will lay if they have that neck glow. Granted I've only had 7 clutches, but still...

March (a few days ago), she shed last week, I really don't think she has ovulated yet because she's still breeding.
