Genetic Stripes
Okay.. I though I already asked this question, or I've seen a thread about this before.. I just wanted to talk about genetic stripes :D.
For those who don't know what that looks like, here's a link to WOBP: http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...enetic-stripe/
I'm just curious what you guys think about it. Do you like it? How do you like the way it combos? What's your favorite combo? Is there a combo that you think makes the genetic stripe not as cool? Is there a combo that you would LOVE to see?
I'm not really looking into "investing" in a genetic stripe, but I may pick one up in the future just because I think they look cool on their own :D...

Genetic Stripes
I like em! A very dramatic spin on the standard ball. Like in all morphs, some other morphs accentuate it and some make it less appealing. My 2 examples are, pastel genetic stripes to me look worse than the stripe on its own. The pastel breaks the stripe up and to me the point of the genetic stripe IS the stripe. Red Axanthic genetic stripes are probly in my top 3 favourite ball morphs that have happened so far. It's so cool how it "chromed" the snake. Anyways, that's my opinion. I'm sure y'all have others so go for it!

Re: Genetic Stripes
love them, especially with a perfect stripe. My favorites are the lesser/butter stripes.

Genetic Stripes
I think genetic stripes look really cool! I haven't really looked up the combos with them, so I'm not sure about that part.... But I like genetic stripes

Genetic Stripes
I love them! I think they are amazingly under rated.

I really like the base morph but I wasn't loving most of the combos. There were some I liked but I didn't like them enough to get one. I have a small group and I was producing regular gstripes until I saw this male and had to have him. He's a pastel yellowbelly gstripe.

Re: Genetic Stripes
Every time someone starts a thread like this I have to open up the Genetics Wizard and play around. I can't help but wonder, "what could this do in my collection in the future," and it's not for me. I did the same thing 2 days ago with Yellowbelly.

Pastel Butter Genetic Stripe!
-
I love genetic stripes, I'm hoping to get a visual female and a butter/lesser 100% het down the road.

The first thing I thought of was adding some Sugar into it. High white Sugar Genetic Stripe would be hot!
-
I've only produced regular genetic stripes so far but am slowly working toward a snow stripe, I hope ...

Re: Genetic Stripes
I like G-Stripes but, I was floored after seeing Corey Woods HRA G-Stripe and RA-G-Stripe.
I think it would be interesting to see how G-Stripes work with other stripe morphs and pattern reduction morphs.

Re: Genetic Stripes
I love my little g stripe. He's just a regular one but has that perfect unbroken dorsal going down his back. He's also one of my best feeders.

Genetic Stripes
I don't care for them. The YB stripe complex is what I'm going for!

Girl Pastel G-stripe (believed to be Super Pastel) from BHB

Male Pastel G-stripe from Royal Constrictor Designs
I am a fan for the most part. I think there is a lot of untapped potential with them. And I think that it's a great way to get into different combos without trying to work around the highway complex. Lesser, Pastel Lesser, and Pastel G-stripes are all great and simple IMO. No need to complicate things too much. Not really a fan of the Hornet Bee (Spider x GS). But just my two cents.

Motley Bee is Spider g-stripe :)
My biggest problem with g-stripes is how dominant it is, it basically hides many other morphs :(
Enchi g-stripe might be real interesting, but calico g-stripe is probably my favorite g-stripe combo so far.

Re: Genetic Stripes
Love the gstripe stuff but my favorite has to me the double recessive stuff that has been done with it especially the caramel gstripe.

Pastel VPI Axanthic G-Stripe all the way! I'd like to have one in my collection someday in the future.

My plan exactly. It's my second goal.

I like them too. This is one of my favorites but like the real clean ones too like the pastel/lesser/G-stripe.

Haha, that's the point :P. You're supposed to go do some research into the morph and post your opinion :gj:!
I agree with the previous comments about how dominant the G stripe is. Anything that destroys that stripe is a negative in my opinion. I still want one though... They had a few males at the local reptile shop and they were my favorite morphs haha! I understand that it's tough (if not yet possible) to unlock their potential, but as a base, I think they're fantastic! I want to see the leopard G stripe. The Red Devil (super red stripe genetic stripe) is possibly my favorite G stripe combo. Have you guys seen it? Just look at it, and imagine the possibilities... http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/red-devil/

I think the lesser/butter G stripe is my favorite too :D. The spider G stripe would be my favorite, but you can make something similar, but cooler (IMO) like the chocolate spider :gj:.
-
G-Stripes are nice, but I think I prefer the super stripes more (yellowbelly/specter) I think they have a cleaner stripe and more color. Of course I think the tri-stripes are the best, but it'll be a while before they come down far enough in price for me to justify getting one.

Re: Genetic Stripes
G-stripe mystic potion? I wonder....
