Break out your party hats...
...Because today is my type 1 diabetes 10 year anniversary!
To celebrate this very crappy day, I've made myself a long island iced tea (or three...) and am marinating in dead rat aroma in my room.
The number 3 is seriously the worst number ever (3/3/03 diagnosis), and so I added 3 times the fancy fluid to my beverage. Because of symbolism and stuff.
Side note:
I have used 4 (FOUR!) ellipses on the forum in the past hour. Why.
Re: Break out your party hats...
Sorry to hear it - I'm sure it isn't easy to manage. Not to sound too responsible, but go easy on the LITs - don't want to "celebrate" your anniversary with a trip to the hospital.

Don't worry, I'm really good at handling drinking- I've got very tight control on my levels :gj:

Got any good stuff, aside from handling this for the LAST TEN YEARS? That's not nuthin, you know?
Don't let negative thoughts have their way with you, it does a number on everything. Be Suzy Sunshine like me. I'm always a little ray of sunshine, ain't I?
Nope ;)
And I try really hard to stay positive most days, but I figure I deserve to be mopey and mildly pathetic every once and a while :D

An insulin pump was the best thing for mine to ever happen and they're doing incredible things with eyelet cell transfer and some other things with gene therapy. It's a diagnosis, not a death sentence...keep your chin up! :gj:
I'm on a pump and love it as well. It's pink and I named it Hilary Duff  Poor little thing has been beaten and battered and dropped into lakes and it's still going strong :gj:
My chin's up(ish). I have to keep reminding myself all the cool things I do in spite of it! But the 10 year just feels so much more forever than the other ones. I don't know why, but it's weirding me out big-time.

That's hilarious about your naming it! Mine was marketed as being "charcoal" gray but I refer to it as "gunsmoke" gray, lmao! My current one has taken a beating as well and I'm on number three from the original one they put me on after upgrades and whatnot. I'm sorry you're in a bit of funk, that sucks but I hear ya' on that. Two years ago in May I wrecked as a result of an insulin/hypoglycemic reaction and broke my femur, several ribs, collapsed a lung and bruised the other, etc. so I can relate to feeling the "weight" of living with and trying to manage this disease, especially long-term. It gets old in a hurry, lol! Don't let it beat you, even if it gets you down for a few.

Aw Liv, we love you! Stay positive.
I'm gonna celebrate with tortilla chips and salsa cheese dip. Hope that's celebratory enough, its pretty darn delish.
