    Axanthic breeders?
Can anyone point me in the direction of some axanthic breeders? I've been googling and I've come up with a few but they have other recessives and that puts them out of my price range. I'm just starting to look around for a nice clean axanthic female and I'm wondering what some good places to start are. Not sure how long I'll wait so just trying to get some websites to stalk for when I am ready to go.

well one quick search for you would be to go to kingsnake.com in the ball python section and type 'Axanthic' in the search bar. It'll bring up all the posted ads that has axanthic in it. of course you'll get more than 'just' plain axanthics in the search but its a quick start for you.

Thank you! Found his facebook page and looked at his available. Ooh I might go outside my planned price range for a pastel axanthic.

I'm trying to avoid the classifieds right now mainly because it may be a while before I get her. Also because I'd rather work with an established person with a website till I get more experience and feel confident going through ads. I do stalk Garrick's page because he's who I got my first (and currently only) BP from. Thank you for the help!

I'm not sure. I hear that a lot of people favor the VPI line. I don't really know the difference between the two. I just want a very light and clean patterned animal for my very ambitious future breeding plans. :) If you know the difference between the VPI and the Jolliff line I'd love to know.

I believe Royal Constrictor Designs has a male Joliff axanthic for sale. I happened to see whem when researching a bit.

Also...to the OP, check back throughout summer. What's for sale now is last year's crop. babies will start being born this summer so you'll have a lot more sellection from a lot of different breeders.

Also, I know you want someone established. There are plenty of small time breeders here with websites who sell their animals through the classifides. When you're ready to buy, let me know and I'll help you look for a reputable breeder with great animals for sale.

I really appreciate that. I've got no problem with small time breeders as long as they're professional and have good reviews. I know everyone has to start someone and not everyone gets big. I'll be there myself when I start breeding and I know I'll want people to give me a chance. :)

And summetime should work out well. I'll get my hours due to no summer classes so I can save up and get everything sorted out. Is there a range of months that most breeders sell during? I'm not familiar with the best times to shop.

I purchased my two axanthics from Rob Hutchinson. So far i like them, but they are still very young. The female looks like she might brown out a little, but the male is looking pretty clean so far. Time will tell.

You'll find babies for sale year round. However, late summer and early fall seem to have the most to choose from. Clutches have hatched and babies have been feeding and are ready to be sold.

Holloway Herps and Bailey and Bailey both produce VPI Line. I fingers crossed may have some this fall if my het x het pairing takes.

I have a couple of females due to ovulate any day now. Spider het VPI x Pastel VPI and Spider het VPI x Pastel het VPI. Crossing fingers for VPI Bumble Bees. The Pastel VPI female is just as silver now at 1800 grams as she was when I brought her home.

WOW :O that girl is sick! That's exactly why I like VIP line axanthics. I happen to love what pastel does to them...it just seems to make them keep their silver vs. browning out.
