    6-month Old Male Breeding
Hi, i was really hoping that my 6-month old Super Pastel Lesser Het Ghost would be ready to breed this season and to my pleasant surprise, i caught him locking with my Pastel. She's a virgin and hopefully they will produce for me this season.

They may not actually be locked in this pic because the contact points are a little off, but it's a really cute pic.

This one is definitely a lock.

Yeah, if they produce for me, i'm hoping for a female SPL poss het Ghost to hold back.

The last time i checked around a month ago, he was not producing sperm plugs and weighed around 500g. This is the third time that i paired them. He's probably around 550g now.

What's her age and weight? Why are you breeding so young?

    She’s a 2010 and weighs 1,750g.

Regarding the male, if he is sexually mature and ready to breed, then he will breed. I just have to be cautious in monitoring his weight and make sure that he doesn’t exhaust himself. I’m only breeding him to one female, so I’m not worried about it.

My mojave male started pairing up for the first time at 6 months old, too. He ended up losing out to the cinnamon that had been paired to that female earlier in the year, but he still managed to lock up and give it a go.

If they're at good weight, continue to eat, and willing to try, I don't see why not try it either.

    Beautiful male, by the way!

This young buck is a little casanova. He sure knows the art of seduction. I caught him spooning! What girl doesn't like to be spooned right?

I've heard of a male breeding at 48 days old :D (the female produced a viable clutch), 6 months seems like more than enough .. I wish the best to you and your clucth :)
