That's not how you use a hide!
I'd like to see pics that people have taken of their ball pythons (or other snakes) misusing their hides, or using things that aren't intended to be hides. I've noticed that mine rarely use theirs like they are supposed to.
I can't see you, so you can't see me!http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7c51910d.jpg

Oh man, if only I could count the number of times I found my girl just laying on top of her hide like that second pic there. Or you know, I find her laying like this for 20 minutes:

And I see your plastic castle and raise you a half log:

My husband's spider baby had an ideal hide:

And yes, that is my hubby's shirt pocket. Little Bitsy loved his shirt pockets.
My Athena has a strange concept of a hide:

And of course my vanilla doing the popular, upside down hide:

I don't how he did it, but when my Ryuu was a baby, he managed to do this somehow, on multiple occasions!

Leonardo is mental...He's never used a hide properly.
http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/o...psbcfed2bc.jpg
And mojo used to use one right, but I think his butt's too big for these now. So he improvises... (excuse the mouse droppings, feeding day)

haha, thats how he enters his hide. he just gets within boody length of it then burrows under, pops up inside and poeks his head out the door. sometimes the door, sometimes he just pokes it out under the edge. hes getting better at finding the door.

Guess who got that entrance blocked off? There's a larger one in the back.

Re: That's not how you use a hide!
One of the BEST threads ever! I'll have to get a few pics tonight. My Spider uses her hide for everything (including her usual pooping spot) but hiding in. And my Normal...she just likes to use her waterbowl as a hide and burrowed a nice place under it...

She's cute!
Not that I would wish that would happen, but if I found one I'd scoop them up.

That is hands down the best impromptu hide pic I've seen yet.
Thank you for sharing those.

Yes...it was. So I've since taken it out of his cage and both of our stress levels have gone down. Now he spends all of his time inside of his cave. Good Luck!

Not the greatest pic, but the moment I opened the lid he stopped being cute. :(
He had his head resting on top of the igloo for over an hour, just watching me.

Not exactly a hide picture, but definitely a silly one-- Magnus literally stole my glasses off my face yesterday, haha. Little rascal. :3
Glad you guys liked the sleeve pic! :) it took some work to get that shot, believe me-- he rarely sits still when he's out and about.
i can't believe how big he's getting, I got him as a VERY young juvi, not quite a hatchling but pretty close...

Re: That's not how you use a hide!
Buttercup also has issues with paper towels and always bunches them up in the corner, as documented here:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...66814968_n.jpg
She has now been graduated to a bigger hide. ;) She looks a bit put out that I once again replaced her paper towels when she CLEARLY does not want them.

I caught him doing this one day...

And a cute frontal picture because he stayed like this for about 40 minutes.
