New boy
Arabesque/het Albino male.
Hope I picked a "good one".
[I think he looks like a sepia tone photo of a snake]

Already feeling twitchy.

Sweet! I love him. Arabesque is one of my favorites. I can't post pics of my new T+ til I get home Wednesday. :( I haven't even seen him/her yet and the wife is tormenting me. She won't send pics lol. If you don't mind where did you get yours and how big is he? The pic makes him look pretty good sized

He's from "The Boasphere" and my friend/favorite breeder Rick Krumine picked him up at the White Plains show for me yesterday.
I had him handle it because he won't let me buy poor quality snakes.
I don't know how big he is.
Rick said he was smallish but he's a proven breeder.
These are his babies with an Anery girl.

It's agonizing but it's for the best.
Last year I had two Beeps shipped during December and January and they arrived late and very cold.
One got an RI from it but the other was luckier.
I'll never ship another snake in cold weather again.
It's just too risky for the precious little things.
Please post pix when it gets there.
I'm mad for salmons, hypos and jungles....:D

Thank you.
I worry about my choices because I'm not very familiar with levels of quality, yet.

He looks great!!! Very nice indeed! You are lucky to have a good friend who's knowledgable and knows what you like, lol.... :gj:
His babies look nice too - will be interesting to see what he produces for you. ;)

Re: New boy
I think you picked a great one! Since the purchase of a BP for my son, I got the bug and have been dying for a Colombian male BCI. My wife does not share the same excitement however, and up to this point I have no shot at a boa of my own. Therefore I'll live through the joyful moments of others.
The best research is wanting what you can't have. I think I have damn near every book on boas, Vin Russo's 2 are my favorites, and I have a cage all picked out, a room that would make a great spot to put the cage that I don't have, and then there's the snake I guess I'm not getting that would go in the cage I do not have LOL.
Totally sucks, but I love reading about and viewing the boas here. Don't get me wrong we enjoy the BP, but I think boas are more exciting and IF we did it all over again, I think we would have gone for a male BCI but my son loves his girl and that's what matters.
Show some pics of your set up when you get all dialed in.

Your wife would end up loving a boa.
They are worlds apart from BPs.
When you have them out, they want to climb up instead of down, trying to get to the floor.
They have no interest in 'balling up and hiding'...they want to be right up in your face and doing/watching whatever you're doing.
Many Boa varieties stay relatively small, especially if you get a male.
*But* even my 7'+ Bob is a joy to handle.
He wraps around my hips with his body and rests his head on my shoulders and just goes along for the ride.
His only 'issue' is shoplifting things with his tail while I'm not watching so I have to be wary of what I'm walking too close to....:)
Maybe you you could get her to hold a baby or juvenile Boa for a while so she can see how much fun they are.
They grow fairly slowly so by the time it was "big", she'd already love it dearly.
