First in the world.

Just produced the 1st Phantom x Phantom spawn ever. There are only 11 known phantom pacman frogs in the world. I have a pair of them and they just spawned around 2000 eggs.

Any hints on what the offspring will look like?

Congrats! How many of those eggs will hatch and any idea what offspring will look like? Don't know much about frogs but those look killer! :banana::banana:

They are a very rare colored pacman frog and I spent 2 grand for the original pair as sub adults.

Not sure on what percentage that will hatch til tomorrow.

How do the genetics work in pacman frogs? Are genes passed on similarly to the way they do in BP's where there are predictable ratios, or more like bearded dragons where some offspring look like one parent while others look like the other parent and the rest are somewhere in-between?

That must be a really awesome feeling! I think we would enjoy posting pics of their life cycle if your up to it.

Is it possible to leave a pacman during a week vacation without outside involvement? Also will they only eat live insects, out need to? I have not been able to find the answer online. I'm interested in having one but want to make sure I know what I'm getting into.

Yes you can easily leave them for a week. They will usually eat anything you put In front of them. I feed mine rat pinks, adult mice, deceased snakes, roaches, crickets, worms, pretty much anything.

If you breed two like morphs together, 50% of the spawn will be the color of the adults. The rest is a mix of colors. Hard to predict the colors. One pair of the same color may produce 5 different colors.

What five colors? I've been seeing red, green, yellow and brown. I also saw a blue but the ad made it seem like it was really rare.

Is fancy and ornate the same thing?

No. There are about 30 different morphs of c. Cranwelli

Ornates are a different from C. Cranwelli

Blues are not rare. Just only offered certain times of the year. Either when they are imported from japan or when I produce them.
