This is my new red tail boa i just recieved this morning. I only took one picture because of stress reasons.. He is brighter in color then I expected and will be beautiful once he gets older. The poor guy was so cold when i took him out of his packaging so i placed him on the warm side of my rubbermaid. He likes to soak alot and so far hes been in his water bowl.. Tell me what u guys think! :)

Nice boa! I just love them. They eat like champs and are so fun to handle.
I have one word of advice, though. if he is soaking a lot, he may have mites or ticks. When I got my boa, he was soaking a lot. Upon further inspection, there were tiny, but visible-to-the-eyel mites floating in the water. Hopefully, though, your boa just likes soaking and there's nothing to worry about.

Congrats Maniac, your BCI looks great. like Ginevive said anytime a snake soaks a lot its important to check the water and the snake for mites. As your snake is just getting settled in, its probably a good idea to check just the water bowl for now once he's out of it. Any sign of mites/ticks and then you'll wanna check and treat the snake. Good luck with him, give him a few days to get settled in, don't you hate not holding em as soon as they get to ya!

Looks great! I'm jealous.

He is a climber he likes to sit on his little branch at the top of his enclosure in this little position were his head is tucked in between his body.. Reminds me of a tree python. Anyway He doesnt soak alot but when eh goes in his water bowl every now and then he will take a swim and go up to his branch. I have held him already and he seems pretty calm. I will try feeding him in about 3-4 days. I hope he eats ! =[

Mikey, if you don't mind a small suggestion for that cute li'l guy you have there, it would be a good idea if you could take a soldering iron (with the snake out of the enclosure) or xacto blade and trim up the rough edges on your ventilation holes. Sometimes they'll take a notion to explore a bit too enthusiastically and if the plastic edges are sharp they can hurt themselves, and it looks like the one in the photo has a bit of sharp edge going on. At least with a boa there's rarely any problem with their being problem eaters, though. ;)
