    Nice things.
    I'm actually gushing right now.

So, my school (along with many, many other schools) have a Facebook group called `*Insert School Name Here* Compliments` where random people will anonymously submit nice things they think about people and they will be posted to the group's wall.

I was looking around on the page, wishing that one would ever be about me (people tag your name so you get notified) and then I see this:

    Quote:

    Wlu Compliments
    Sunday
To the girl with the really short hair wearing a hairband who was waiting for the bus at ***** & ******* today at around 1pm - I would like to say you are probably one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. Just thought you should know.

    THAT'S MEEEEEE!

I was going to work on Sunday at around 1pm and I was wearing a headband and I obviously have really short hair!
    That's my bus stop!

This is the nicest thing I've ever read about myself/someone has said to me. I just wanted to share!

What are some nice things people have said about you/to you that gave you a complete surprise and made you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside?

Always nice to receive unexpected compliments :)

My boyfriend's boss told him one day, "Brittany is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. I have a difficult time keeping up with what she's saying sometimes." I enjoyed this because I never found her to be lacking in intelligence, but it did make me think she must not know many intelligent people.

People should be telling you that all the time. The problem is when you cross a certain threshold of attractiveness, people are too nervous to tell you things like that. You get the 'I'm not worthy' guys who think it and don't say it because they're scared, then you get the 'I'm the boss' guys who think girls dig guys that are jerks to them.

Trust me - they're all thinking it.

EDIT: and to contribute, my girlfriend tells me I'm one of the smartest people she's ever known all the time, which is a huge compliment coming from her because I consider her to be one of the smartest people I've ever known.

Guelph has that compliments page too! You definitely deserve it :D

Nicest thing someone has said to me is at the end of my summer research job in September I had a performance review, and both my bosses told me that I impressed the heck out of them and they've never seen someone so comfortable in the field and identifying fish before. Then they told me about all the "tests" they were giving me and how I did so well that they are giving me a promotion this summer. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face :D It feels nice to be told that you are great at what you love!

I would move to Canada for the job you have.

My boyfriend has told me several times that I'm the most selfless person he's ever met, to a fault sometimes in his opinion. That makes me feel really good! I'd rather hear that I'm a good person than a good looking person any day! Of course, I'm a woman and like to be complimented on my physical attributes too, but for me there is nothing like hearing that I've made a positive impact on someone's life.

Cat, you are a beautiful girl! I'm really surprised you don't get this kind of thing all the time!

Not to bring negativity to the thread, but I don't get many compliments. I'm a real bad road rage person, for example last week I punched off a guys mirror for parking in the middle of two spaces, in a parking garage with limited parking.

So, people don't really find reasons to compliment me. Although I was told that I would always have a job at the place of employment I'm currently back at. That's a good feeling, knowing you've left a such a positive impact that even though you're leaving, you can always come back if need be. I also always got a "oh, you're here tonight. Thank god." comments when I would show up to work. That's positive too right? :D

Ha Ha! That first part cracked me up! Everyone has something to offer, no one has everything. Sounds like you're a responsible employee....who no one has the balls to park next to :)
Like I said, you can't be everything!

We need to make sure we never get in a car together. Were our forces to combine, it would probably be REALLY bad for other drivers.

Wait...do you mean to say you're NOT patient with self-centered idiots?! :O

I love how this thread and the gun thread are at the top of the recent threads list! :gj:

Road trip? Road trip. I've wanted to go to one the big shows in California or Florida. ;)

I'm a much safer/calmer driver now but i still have my moments. I never drove like an ass, but if someone else did i made sure that they knew they were being an ass. I used various profanities and hand gestures to aid me. I liked to think of myself as the "I-95 Vigilante".

Hell yea lets go to cali! I hope you have a lot of crap in your car that we can chuck at idiot drivers along the way!

So you were worried about getting a parking ticket but getting charged with "destruction of property" by punching off their mirror didn't worry you?

I'm better than I was cause my wife got mad about it every time. I've gotten out on the side of the road and straightened people out before. Only a couple times was it physical but I got in people's faces a lot. I try my best to avoid needing to pull over any more, since open carry came legal.

I can walk away from the scene, but my car can't move itself, lol. I haven't heard anything about it yet, but my anger gets the best of me some times.

You might be the only person to appreciate this, but I've considered keeping a collection of bricks in the passengers floor board...

I think the person who wrote it was a female!

There were more females at the bus stop than males and I just assumed a female wrote it. Either way, it was so sweet and unexpected.

I honestly never look at the Facebook page, and for some reason I did this morning, et voila! Day made!

PS: Is my "Nice Things" thread turning into a road rage thread? :colbert: :tears:

I don't get many. Normally it's about my hair :D. A pretty girl at the drive-thru told me I had cute eyebrows. I didn't know eyebrows could be considered attractive..? I'm pretty shy so it was a good feeling for someone to go out of their way to compliment me.

A few co-workers recognized my dedication to becoming one of the best at whatever I do :). In my hobbies or work, I strive for greatness. Hopefully it helps my ball python addiction/passion :D.

Eyebrows can definitely be attractive! Especially if you have two separate ones.

Oh! Actually, I had to be on the register a couple nights ago and a girl asked two questions:

    1. Is your hair soft?
    Yes.
    2. Can I touch it?

I was laughing pretty hard, her friends seemed pretty embarrassed too. But, I said sure. She ran her hand through my hair and stroked my goatee and sort of got off on it. Lol. I'll take it as a compliment. Of course, it makes it more awkward when she's a sorority/preppy girl and I look the way I do.

    http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0ecc985e.jpg

My goatee is a lot longer now, though.
