Do bumblebees inherit the spider head wobble? Do the spiders suffer due to the wobble? I am very new to ball pythons and am curious to learn it all! ;)
    Thanks.

Any morph with the spider gene will have a wobble.

In some cases, it can be extreme in which the animal usually suffers. By extreme, I mean smashing into the sides of their tubs repeatedly, etc.

I have two bumblebees and they don't have a noticeable wobble at all. When it comes to feeding they are a little wonky but are able to eat like everyone else.

If the wobble is extreme, do not attempt to breed. Although if your spider gene Bp has a little wobble, that does not mean its babies will be the same.

Yes all spider gene animals will have it. But please do not let that discourage you from working with spiders. I don't consider the wobble to be a bad thing at all, I have said this before but I think it actually can give them a little personality. They eat breed and thrive just the same as animals with out the wobble.

My new bumblebee does not show any sign of the wobble so far. It doesnt cause harm to them. My friend who breeds ball pythons said his male spiders can breed early and have a strong breeding and feeding response compared to the rest of his collection. But that is not the same for every spider. Some people work with the gene a lot and love them, some people choose not to work with them. I personally think anything spider is awsome and is my favorite gene (white sides, reduced pattern, green eyes).

As Bobbafett pointed out, some can be extreme, while others are barely noticeable. Some with likely only display signs of their wobble when it's time to eat. :)

I've got a young spider that has shown no wobble at all(knocks wood). I also have a spider-mojave with a wobble, but he's still a sweet snake. I have to basically put the mouse to his lips to avoid missed strikes and a feed refusal. Other than that he's just great and will be a breeder for me. I've heard wobble can be reduced by incubating eggs at slightly lower temps like 87-88. Anyone had any experience with this? Or is just a crap shoot every time?

I did a lot of reading on the wobble when I was looking for a snake to buy. Basically the conclusion was it's present in all spiders or morphs with the spider gene, but it varies on how noticeable it is. The worst will corkscrew and/or flip upside down. The best will only have the slightest of wobbles when stressed or feeding. I saw some breeders trying to breed out the wobble but did not see any success. It's random on how noticeable it will be. It's not supposed to effect their quality of life, but to me I think the bad ones like flipping upside down would. Also, some get worse or better with age. It's just random. The consensus is that it's a neurological thing connected to the spider gene so if you breed spiders there's no way around it. It's why I didn't buy the bumblee male I really had my eye on and went with a pinstripe instead. I just don't want to feel sorry for my snake or end up producing one that corkscrews or flips or something. I'd feel awful seeing that.

As far as wobble, anything with the spider gene can have it to some degree. I have also read it can be present young, or develop later. My girl is a year and a half, and only had a slight wobble the first few days I had her. Never see it now. It does discourage many from working with anything spider. But I just love the spider gene, and so I have it, and will work with it. They still eat, poop, and breed fine. :)

My male and female bee only have a slight wobble. Even though some of my other bpz are off feed due to weather, my 2 bees eat like pigs. Never miss a meal and always waiting for 2nds........

Well....thank you very much for all the great responses!!! The spider and bumblebees snakes are so beautiful! I just have to learn more before I ever get a spider. My little normal girl stresses me out enough now as it is. LOL She is a picky eater and Im going to get her a live mouse today and see if she will eat that!

Normally in my experience at that size, they will still be growing and pounding rats. Usually only go off feed if they are stressed or something in their husbandry off.

Well...I've had her for only two weeks. Just trying to get her to take her first meal in my care. I guess I'm worried because my corns eat pinkies like there is no tomorrow. Hot spot stays around 90 and hum 50%. I havent handled her all week. How long will they take to settle in and accept food?

All of mine have eaten first time offered. Some a week after getting here, some 2 or 3 days later. Each snake is different though. Has she refused for you? What is your set up like? How big of tank/tub, what kind and how many hides? What's ambient temp?

I have one hide that is a fake rock type that she is always in. The setup is a large around 5 gal type critter keeper. Is that too small maybe? She has water on the cool side. Ambient temp is only 75 right now....just turned heater on. Temp got down to 61 in my apt this morning.

Awh gorgeous bees! I was SO disappointed when I read about the wobble. I was just like "Why not any other gene? Like majaves?" I'll just have to admire your guy's babies. The spider gene creates such cool markings.

I got my guy close to two weeks ago I think? He's eaten twice and hasn't refused. He's three months old and not sure of his current weight. Maybe ask the previous owner how they fed? I got mine from Garrick and I asked him what size he was currently eating and bought those for him. Also my sister and I stumbled across his youtube channel (this was before I came here and realized how big he is in the industry). We watched a video of him feeding. Well I offered his first mouse to him by using tongs and having it dangle by the tail like I'd seen on most youtube videos. Allure showed interest but was just staring like "Uh and what is that supposed to be?" and didn't strike. My sister pointed out that Garrick held his by the scruff of the neck in his video. Lightbulb moment! As soon as I did that he was on it.

    Re: Bumblebees
Ambient should be and stay 80. They tend to prefer snug, dark hides. Also, two of the same is ideal, so they don't have to choose between security and thermoregulating. And smaller is better, you don't want her in too big of an enclosure, as that will make her feel more insecure. Can you post pictures of your set up?

I will take a couple pics in a couple minutes. How do I keep the ambient temp at 80? Especially if the temp falls at night in my apt.

    Re: Bumblebees
How are you heating your tank? You have to keep temps up, or your snake can get sick with an RI, and cannot properly digest food. Place her in a room you can keep a heater on, to keep temps right. Or get heat lamps as needed to keep proper temps.

Is it regulated with a thermostat and are you using that analog thermometer or are you using a digital with probe.

I would cover the open mesh on that lid with Glad Press n Seal to try to trap in some heat. You may need to hang a heat lamp above it if doing that doesn't trap enough heat.

I have a spider and he hardly wobbles. Only when i feed him or he is out for a long period of time he wobbles slightly. Im trying to hopefully breed my spider to my gorgeous pastel. How mush do male bumblebees go for and females. I love the wobble it gives them character.

I've seen a lot of bumblebees online for $350-$450. They sure are pretty!
