FedEx Fairy is coming today!

The FedEx fairy is bringing me my 2012 male fire today! Thank you Tiffany for showing him to me! I'm not home yet so all I have to show you is the breeder pic at the moment... Even though it is a lower quality picture you can tell this guy is going to be HOT.

I usually like the busy funky fire patterns more but that guy is hot!

I like the more reduced, clean fires. Hard to find. Let me tell you.

Yeah After these 3 get here this week it's no more snakes until myrtle beach!!!!

But seriously, I'm beyond broke. Lol my money is going into getting my v70 rack and preparing for my girl to give me a good clutch of eggs. I am working on expanding my rat production too. My current number of breeding female rats isn't enough!

Fires are great to add to about anything, and that is a FINE Fire!!

I hear ya on the pick-ups. I'm beyond broke and working all the OT I can handle.

His card that I got with him says his paring was "07 M GCR Vanilla & 05 F H.R. Graziani Pastel #1"...Now, I don't know what HR means but is it possible that he is a vanilla instead of a fire? This feed card doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me lol

I would call them and question the situation. If you want a nice Fire, then you deserve a nice Fire... not just a good deal on a Vanilla, because now you need to shop for a Fire.

Same here

I'm just afraid he won't make it back okay if I were to return him... He was very cold when he got here but he was in a huge box with one tiny heat pack that wasn't even warm anymore.

Pretty interesting. Card says it is a H.R. Fire but the pairing should not have produced any Fires. But I don't know what HR stands for. I would call the breeder and ask for clarification.

Some better pics of him would help ID him.

It looks as though the pattern is the same from comparing the pics, but the breeders is much brighter/lighter and Fire looking than your pics.

I wouldn't stress him out for more pics today. He's had a rough enough day.

It is possible he is in she'd. The tip of his nose looked a little dry and his eyes did appear kind of cloudy. According to the feed card his last shed was at the end of November...

Give him some time maybe he is going through shed. I think he looks like a Fire in the pic from the seller. Has the head spot and color.

Maybe get a good pic of him stretched out when he gets acclimated. He was balled up a lot in your pics.

I think the feed card is throwing the ID off. There are no chances for Fire out of a Vanilla x Pastel pairing. I would definitely call the person you bought him from to clear up the info on the feed card.

The breeder emailed me back.

He said he put both a fire male and vanilla male in with the female. He believes the fire sired the clutch because he got fireflies, fires and pastels.

He also said that the snake was in blue before being shipped so he IS about to shed which is affecting how he is currently appearing.

I replied back asking for pics of the parents and a clutch picture. I also asked for him to explain what HR stood for.

Fingers crossed he replies soon!

I will do another photos hoot post shed and after he has time to settle in.

Only asking because I've never seen one...but is there any chance that Vanilla Pastels and Fireflys look so similar that he could be wrong?

When I asked he answered jut by saying that he is a fire, he hatched no vanillas but did hatch 2 fireflies and a pastel. Either way, I love this guy and if post shed pics don't help, I will just have to prove him out.

So it came in a big box and cold, sounds like someone needs to learn how to properly ship.

A lot of people have a difficult time telling pastel vanillas from fireflies, hopefully you have what you paid for.
After shed pics should help.

Agreed. He was in a 10x10x10 box. The heat pack was at the bottom and there was a good 4 or 5 layers of balled up newspaper between him and the heat pack.

I did confirm the sex, and look forward to doing a post shed photoshoot in a couple days.

Like I said, the only other fire I have seen that was so reduced was a proven breeder female fire that I was going to buy until the seller backed out. Here is a link to that thread that has pictures of that fire female to compare to my boy.
