The lil sob drew blood but left the tiniest mark. Bought two mice for her and I think I know which one is going in tonight!

So the one that bit me turns out is 27g.. Snake is 150 grams... Prolly a lil large for her but oh we'll.. She struck and coiled so hard the mouse bit itself.. Then pandora decided to wash he off in her water bowl. Take it out and has it in again.. She keeps trying to eat it sideways.. Prolly cu she broke the things back and is bent in half..

I'm not worried I watch her feed and she eats live so the wood doesn't worry me.. The mouse went in the water and had a peice stuck on it I was able to pull that out right after she finished and another while she was eating.

Feeding live would heighten the risk? She's going to be striking at the substrate, thus increasing the chance of eating chips. I'm going to agree with Gorilla, pick up a bag of Aspen shavings for her. It's like 4 bucks at walmart.

A little bit of substrate isn't going to hurt anything. They digest bones...
