What to look for in a Mojave?
I'm looking into buying a female Mojave to eventually breed with my male Lesser... What should I look for? Of the two I like right now, one has a great solid stripe but is darker in color and the others stripe is more broken up but she is super yellow and beautiful. Which is more important to look at when breeding?

PS - This is a BEL project

Personally, I like #2. Nice flames, bright coloring

I like number 2 because of the golden colours and the more uniform patterning (just a personal preference with mojo's).

#2 IMO. But if it's about a bel it really doesn't matter cuz it will b all white.. So what pattern do u want. To see under the black light

I have seen comments like this before regarding BELs, Ivories, etc. If you intend to use the white snake you produce for future breedings, shouldn't you care what it may ultimately throw? The ugliest YBS can make an Ivory as can the ugliest of Mojos and Lessers make a BEL. Considering a BEL from a Mojo/Lesser pairing will produce Mojos and Lessers I would think the pattern would be of importance for the quality and value of the offspring. Just my 0.02

    I like #2 BTW.

Both look good to me, and I wouldn't complain about having either in my collection, but if I was to pic I would take #2. I love the striping.

Where did you find them I'm looking for one myself and either one is beautiful to me.

This is all that matters in a breeding program.
If you are trying to buy or make a BEL the only thing that really matters is quality of the snakes that produce it.

If I was to choose I'd go with number 1 but they are both good looking :gj:

I'm leaning more towards #1 too, the pattern is more symmetrical but still nice and busy. You really couldn't go wrong with either though.

For a BEL project, I'd go with #2. The pattern is more consistent, brighter yellows, and better flames. If I were mixing it with a cinny or something dark, I'd go with #1 but my personal preference are the lighter/brighter mojaves. The BEL isn't going to show the patterning/flames, so what do you want should you get mojave babies instead of your BEL? That's the question I asked myself when picking out my BEL makers.
