I've started drawing again, and thought I'd share a little of what I do (some of the photos are poor quality, sorry! I've taken lots of photos with my crappy cell camera, rather than finding a proper scanner to get them onto the computer) -

I have a couple more recent ones, but left them on my phone and have no cell service.. so will have to email them to myself on my break later :P

Thanks :) I sometimes go for long periods without touching a sketchbook.. just lack of inspiration I guess. It's always nice to actually get consumed by a drawing... a bit like meditating. Feels like a good yawn.

Lol, I'll have to go through my sketchbooks and find some stuff. I know I have more, but some are kinda 'eh'. I have more colored stuff too. I enjoy crayons and colored pencils, but don't actually use them frequently.

Those are really cool! I think they'd make great tattoos.

This stuff is so up my alley. I MIGHT have to commission you to do some stuff for me :) I agree that these would make great tattoos!!

No guarantees I can do anything asked for. I'm really horrible at drawing things when I start off with a picture or idea in my head (unless i'm copying what I see, like the chimp). If you give me general themes, I can try though! One person on another forum said they wanted the elephant as a tattoo, and I do not care in any way if somebody uses anything as a tattoo, so long as I get to see how it turns out :P

I'm really digging the crazy intricate organic shapes. I have a tattoo of a poem on my back and I wanted to add some art to it. I was thinking something like a galaxy. I sketched some stuff up but it all looked crappy.

    Tattoo reads:

    Quote:

You are a child of the Universe
No less than the trees and the stars
You have a right to be here
and whether or not it is clear to you
No doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.

So I kind of wanted to add something that had to do with space and the universe or planet earth. I'm not really sure!!

I start off with the tiny details and work up, until, like looking for shapes in clouds, I can pull everything together to make it cohesive :) I'll keep your info in my head next time I sit down to draw, and let you know if anythign I deem 'shareable' I'll let you know. Haha. (at risk of offering services)

Kaorte, I don't know how I feel about this. I like parts, but my need for food, and my gimpy wrist, decided it was finished:

That was my attempt at conveying your quote, but it feels empty to me. I have some colored drawings some place, I just need to find them... some things I know my family has on their walls that I haven't ever taken photos of, but are across the country right now (soon to be visited! :) )

I do like it. I can see how it relates :P I guess I kind of want something I can blend into the text I already have without sacrificing the artwork.

I anxiously await more of your work :D

Were you listening to Fragile by Yes when you did this? Check out the album cover.

    Pretty cool stuff in here.

Just looked it up, and currently listening! I was listening to "Tycho" radio on Pandora, mostly very mellow electronic stuff without words to get in the way. Was pulling up photos of trees, primarily, but there are a few other little critters hiding in there. I've always had a fascination with the image of a floating island in the sky, and I've seen this idea in video games, a couple movies, and other drawings or short films.

Oh, I do have this. Another one a friend was enocuraging me to draw. I'm practicing drawing what other people tell me to draw. It's frustrating, but I think helpful too. This one is by no means finished, and I don't know if it ever will be. I might jsut color it in with my crayons :P

Your work is amazing!!! I would love to see this finished - and colored would be fantastic! Not hedging on your own creativity, but if i may be so bold, if you are inclined to use color to finish this, pastels would be a wonderful medium to use.:bow::bow:

You know, I've only ever used them once before, and it was years ago. Might be worth picking some up to try it out :)
